  • Sex, Drugs and Coco Puffs

I've read a lot of Chuck Klosterman's work and enjoy it greatly. Klosterman is a prolific pop culture essayist (for the most part) so especially right now with everything surrounding politics being tense it's nice to disengage and read the author's musings about the Sims, Bruce Springsteen's music and being Zach Morris.

  • Hilariously smart!

He is so funny and educated at the same time. You will laugh or get mildly outraged while reading this one! Great author made a great book!

  • Sex, Drugs & Cocoa is Chuck Klosterman's Masterpiece

Sex, Drugs & Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klosterman is one of the wildest, hippest reads I've ever taken. I picked up the book on a cross-country flight and struggled to put it down - Klosterman is amazingly witty, funny and sharp. He tracks American culture - our ups and downs, our bizarre fascinations, and what they say about us. From Zack Morris & Saved by the Bell to Jon Cusack to Sim City - Chuck Klosterman leaves nothing alone. This is one of my favorite reads of 2004 and a book that I recommend to any avid reader or fan of culture / cultural studies. In eBay Feedback terms - I give Chuck Klosterman an A+++++++++ for Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs!

  • alright so far.

I've only had time to read the first four chapters of the book. And I have mixed feelings about it. The Chapter relating Real World Characters and life I totally understood. But the Chapter on Billy Joel and his music was way over my head. It's hit or miss. Either I think it's awesome, or I just don't get it at all. He does a good job relating real life with the book. But I was born in '84. And some of the things he references to are out of my area of knowledge. Like sports. I'm not a sports person, so I can't relate. But had I been a sports fan, I'm sure I would totally get the sports chapter. He seems a bit cynical and sarcastic at times. But that's maybe a part of the reason why I enjoy reading his book.

  • great book by an amazing author..must have!!!

I find that every page I gets me that much closer to heaven....Chucks's books are always an enjoyment to read and I love every single page the man has written..
