Inspired by the 2006 feature film directed by Bryan Singer, Superman Returns features an open-ended Metropolis spanning 80 square miles of bustling activity. The Man of Steel begins the game with his superpowers fully intact, including flight, x-ray vision, heat vision, super hearing, super strength, super speed, and super breath. How players use these powers within the urban setting is up to them. Cars can be completely melted or simply cut into, objects can be blown out of harm's way or frozen in place, and more. The storyline follows Superman as he returns to Earth after a five-year sabbatical in space. The city he loves is in constant peril from the likes of Metallo, Parasite, and the indomitable Lex Luthor. <br><br>The action takes place from a third-person perspective as players complete story-driven missions, engage in mini-games, and rescue people from imminent danger. Since Superman is nearly invincible, his success is tied to the level of collateral damage experienced by the good citizens of Metropolis. Players must be actively involved in saving pedestrians from runaway trains, tornados, collapsing buildings, and much more. If the city or its populace suffers, Superman will be unable to continue. The game's story-based objectives combine events from the film with new sequences, often involving the superhero tackling archvillains in stages specifically devoted to a lone enemy and its lackeys. Superman Returns also features an original orchestral soundtrack and voice acting from the film's principal actors, including Kevin Spacey, Kate Bosworth, and newcomer Brandon Routh.

Superman's Return to Glory???
Pros + A huge world to fly through with a few familiar faces & old enemies to fight. + A real sense of being Superman. Fly at dizzying speeds. Lift massive objects. Use unbelievable powers to save or destroy. + You can use cheat codes if you want to. Cons - Lots of glitches, some frustrating moments running & flying, & some annoyingly hard enemies. - Missions are repetitive and can interfere with other things around the city you may want to do more. - No real depth after you get past flying through Metropolis as Superman. Not enough interaction with the city. Comments Fans have waited for a great Superman game for awhile. Superman Returns delivers an enjoyable ride as Superman that is not as frustrating as the games that have came before it but still lacks deliveriing the most complete ... An okay game here. The action is fast paced and fun, but gets very very repetitive. Graphics are good for the x box. Controls are a little tough to get used too, but once again are good. Replay value is low. The best parts of the game are just flying around, seeing how fast you can go without running into things. Really the fighting is so repetitive as superman seems to have only a few moves and powers dont seem very useful, especially against boss type enemies. In the end i would say rent it, dont buy, or get it used a a good price. Definatly not worth 50 bucks...An okay game here. The action is fast paced and fun, but gets very very repetitive. Superman Return is a really fun game
For some reason game designers have a problem with making superman titles. So if you can find you a copy to play and a superman fan I would suggest this game. It really is kinda geared towards a hardcore gamer meaning give it a chance. I previously owned a copy years ago when it was released so I finished it from start to finish and I like it.

Love the game, easy to control and loads of fun.This game id for kids of all ages and the graphic is unbelievable, almost as good as the 360! Who needs spiderman when you have superman
