My wife's key fob is like new again!
It was a bit tricky to get the old one apart since it's glued, but at least I wasn't afraid it was gonna break... Assembling is very easy and it comes with new screws for the battery lid - the old screws won't fit. I used the back from the original fob since the new didn't have the Toyota logo on it. It's less water resistant than the original since it's only snapped together as opposed to glued, but I think it seems like a good quality product. Time will tell. Good but not so good!
Over all, this is almost as good as the original Toyota one, with one major exception. The little securing tab on the spring-loaded latch of the sliding cover was missing so the back just slid off, pulling the key with it. Fortunately, I noticed this before actually using it outside so didn't lose my transferred circuit board and ferrite chip. I looked for the missing tab (not that it would be of much use to me) but saw no sign of it so assumed it had never been there when it left the store. It certainly looks like it may have broken off at some point as I can see a rough surface where the tab would have been attached. You can tell that it is a cheap alloy casting. The obvious solution was to use the back off my original fob which was in pretty good shape (the button side had been ... So, on the whole, I'm quite satisfied with my purchase and had no trouble transferring everything over (once I finally got the old one opened up). I would highly recommend using the back off your original key fob if at all possible. Otherwise, you could easily end up losing your new one, although you would probably be left with the key on your key ring but no way of starting your Prius.

Very good product!!!
Very good product and of great quality!!! Only thing I would say is that it should come with a little bit of directions to take it apart and put together. I picture sheet or something would be helpful for those who may not be that mechanically inclined. Over all a great buy and a great product exactly as described.

Refurbish Prius Remote Key Units at One-twentieth of Dealer Replacement Cost.
Great product! Just successfully and easily refurbished two badly worn remote units for our 2008 Prius. I first reviewed the procedure on YouTube then started on my two units. Used a flathead screwdriver that just fitted in the two square slots on each side of the old cases to open the old cases. The small circuit boards dislodged easily from the old cases by pressing gently onto the microswitches on the other side. The small memory unit took a little patience and skill but came out by gently prying along the edges with a table knife (non-serrated). Snapped all back together and slid the old keys into the new cases...fitted perfectly. New battery compartment screws were supplied and the battery and case all slid back easily with a good fit. works great, needed to use a YOU Tube video on how to dismantle the old one. The new shell case snapped together easily and my FOB works fine.
