Perfect replacement
Jaguar wants a small fortune to replace this key fob, and this inexpensive fob works perfectly. I had my old key fob, whose buttons no longer worked, but the key still worked. I slid the old key into the new button transmitter (if you don't have the old key you will have to go to a locksmith to cut a new key blade). Then you need to program the new transmitter to work with the car's lock system. In spite of what the seller's ad copy says, YOU DO NOT NEED TO GO TO JAGUAR to program the new key. Insert the new key, turn the ignition to position I, wait five seconds, then turn the key back and forth to position II four times. Remove the key. You will hear a chime. Then press any button on the new fob. You will hear another chime. Immediately press any button on any other key fob you are ... These key fobs worked great. It DID help that I had the key code and radio code from the dealer. The ONLY difference with these keyfobs is that the button for the switchblade key lacks a Jaguar logo, which of course, is trademarked. My locksmith had the key done in 30 minutes using one of these keys with no problems. They said it would have taken longer without codes, but otherwise do-able. These key fobs and the right locksmith did the trick. There are three things the locksmith needed to do: [1] cut that ridiculously weird key tip Jag has. [A NECESSARY TASK] [2] program the microchip to answer the security system's 'inquiry'. [A NECESSARY TASK] [3] link the remote buttons into the system. {I knew how to do that, but they did it free.] [1] and [2] REQUIRES a locksmith with the right ... These key fobs worked great. I read reviews first and everything they said is truth. Had no problems to reprogram the remote. I switch the old key and chip to the old fob even more I cut the new blank key exactly like the original it locks and unlocks doors and arms and disarms alarm even opens the ignition but do not start the engine because I din't reprogram the key chip. almost exact replica of a factory key!
I think this is one of the best deals I've purchased on Ebay! Don't pay $350.00 at the dealer Pay $18.00 and get a good quality key that works great I purchased 2 and as you can see I'm ver Pleased...............Thank for such a great deal!!!!

FOB is good, but key doesn’t work
The key was not cut the same as my original key to my 2004 model and so although you could push it into the ignition, it wouldn’t turn. Since the key FOB works, had to replace the key from the old FOB to this FOB.
