Take a swing and hit the green with all of your favorite characters from the Super Mario Bros. series. It only takes a few minutes of gameplay to see why Mario Golf is one of the most popular golf games every released by Nintendo. Mario Golf for Nintendo Game Boy Color lets you play golf as your favorite characters from the Super Mario Bros. games, including Wario, Luigi and Mario. Other non-playable characters that make an appearance in this installment of the Super Mario Bros. series include Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, Toad, Yoshi and Bowser. There are a few new options for playable characters on Mario Golf, including Kid, Sherry, Joe and Azalea. It is important to know that each character, including the Super Mario Bros. characters, has a different distance and trajectory. In order to unlock all of the characters in the game, you must satisfy certain criteria and beat various characters. Hone your golfing skills by playing all of the different modes for game play. Your options include tournament, stroke, match game and Marion Clubhouse (the infamous challenge mode). With so many different choices for game play, it feels as if you are constantly playing a brand new video game. Choose from four different courses, all of which contain 18 holes. Take advantage of the overhead perspective to check out the angle of every swing, and use this angle to figure out how you can fine-tune your golf game. The Game Boy Color has the ability to connect with other gaming systems. This feature requires the Transfer Pak peripheral to transfer data between the Game Boy version of Mario Golf and the Nintendo 64 version of the game. Using the Transfer Pak lets you play characters from the Nintendo 64 version of Mario Golf on the Game Boy Color game. If you want to play against your friends, use a game link cable to connect multiple Game Boys together. It is important to note that Mario Golf also works on the Game Boy Advance. Super Mario Bros. is a franchise that appeals to gamers of all ages, and the rating for Mario Golf reflects this universal appeal. Once you are ready to play the game, choose between the single-player story mode or the multiplayer option.     Perfect golf game.

    "Guys and gals, I don't care if you're not into golf. You must add Mario Golf to your library of Game Boy Color games. This game is the perfect title to complement your collection. It's got it all; tons of variety, pick-up-and-play controls, N64 connectivity... and it's great fun, especially in the later levels. The early challenges from the pros are decidedly easy to get through. You'll see them throw easy, five foot putts to give you the lead. But when you go up against Mario in the Tournaments, watch out. Mario Golf is by far the best portable version of golf and it even comes close to toppling some of the PC golf offerings as well." - Craig Harris, IGN Editor I followed Craig's advice and bought this game and I don't regret it. You won't either.

    Classic!

    One of my favorite Mario sports game. It’s a must for GBC collectors everywhere. Music, gameplay and graphics are perfect. Despite not liking golf it actually taught me about golf and how to have fun. Highly recommend

    Timeless classic.

    The game is absolutely a timeless classic. A bit disappointed that the cart was a bit damaged on the gold connectors, and would not power up until I cleaned the cartridge with alcohol. The game worked properly after that.

    Too much fun

    Be wary of this game, it is just too much fun. I can't seem to put it down. I am a golfer and am amazed at how a game with such simple controls can be so true to form. Allows for top and backspin as well as condition of lie, draw and fade shots. My 8 year old is having fun with it too, although taking time to perfect his shots. I have bought another to try the gameboy color link. Head to head matches sound pretty fun. If you see this game available, I'd strongly recommend it.
