Partly Metal Partly Real
This was a great thing to buy because I'm a fan of 80's series and I wanted to see one of the spin-offs from ThunderCats. The box was really cool to look at with how it is raised with the shiny look of it and the series is awesome and has the same people from the ThunderCats series so it's great to watch and the bonus features were awesome to see as well.

Partly realistic, mostly fantastic
Ah, Silverhawks. I remember trying to imitate the sound Tallyhawk made whenever the opening credits were on as a kid. In the age before cellphones, Internet, and video games that looked real instead of a bunch of blocks, I think this was a show slightly ahead of its time. It genuinely surprised me how well it still holds up as far as a message of good triumphing over evil, and lessons about our solar system. Yes, I know that the show is mostly fantasy, borrowing from the old Gatchaman cartoon and so on, but it's still entertaining, and still cohesive as a series. The writers and artists cared about little details such as which buttons released which Silverhawk, which villains were on the Penal Planet and which weren't, etc. Each character, hero or villain, was his or her ... Enough of reality shows that are really surreality. :P Bring back the fantasy, even if it is partly metal, partly real.

SilverHawks - One of the BEST cartoons from the 80's!
One of the most under-rated cartoons of the 80's, from the producers of Thundercats (the original 80's cartoon) comes a group of heroes that are partly metal, partly real who fight evil in the far off galaxy of Limbo against MonStar and his intergalactic mob of criminals. My kids LOVE this cartoon, just as I loved it watching it as a teenager in college. If you are a parent, Godparent or Grandparent and you are tired of the violence, political indoctrination and lack of morality in the current crop of cartoons seen on Cartoon Network, Disney Channel (& Disney XD) and Nickelodeon (& NickToons) then consider making this a mandatory purchase! Not only do the SilverHawks fight to keep the galaxy safe, but the cartoon itself teaches young kids a little bit about the ... Thundercats for space adventures.
Generally if you like Thundercats, you might like this also. Mon Star, the main bad guy is not as great a villain, as Mum Ra, but that's a hard standard to hit. His henchman, can be somewhat creative, so they add to the stories somewhat well, though not so much Yes Man. Stargazer, the boss of the Silverhawks, as a sort of older, wants results, chief type, is great as the one giving them the info they need for missions. The end of episodes has a sort of quiz, vs a moral like many toons from that time, which is original.Generally if you like Thundercats, you might like this also.
