Michael Jackson's Complete Guide to Single Malt Scotch
Just beginning my adventure into the world of whisky I decided to purchase a couple of books just to expand my knowledge. This book while not including an extensive overview it does include most different types of single malt whisky. This book is beautifully illustrated which includes pictures of different bottles and would be a perfect addition to any malt lovers coffee table to get their friends or family interested in whisky. Also included are notes for the various whiskys whis include nose, palate and finish, this book is more geared towards the novice or newly interested whisky drinker. The reason a more seasoned whisky drinker might snub this book is that there is a very limited selection of whiskys tasted. Although it does include many different brand like Macallan and ... All in all this book is great and I would recommend to buy it if you are just beginning to become interested in whisky but for the more experienced there are other better books out there that gets straight to the point without the illustrations.

Great book...
My boyfriend is a big scotch drinker and loved this book. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the ratings however, our favorite got a lower rating than we think it deserved, however it really depends on your pallet. Learn about the scotch before you buy! It is great fun learning about the region, the distillery and the history that went into the bottle. Enjoy!

I purchased this book as a gift for my husband, as he loves to try different scotch. I thought it would provide him with more information concerning the taste, aroma, etc. before he tries a new scotch. And maybe it would head him off of some that he wouldn't like. He was very pleased with this book and said he would enjoy reading about a variety of scotch that he, otherwise, might not have heard of or thought of. I gave him 3 scotch miniatures along with the book and he looked them up right away to find out more information about them.I purchased this book as a gift for my husband, as he loves to try different scotch.
