careful on the ear phone plug

It is small and easy to use
Pros: It is small and easy to use. It syncs up with the computer very easily. Inexpensive and has a FM Radio, MicroSD slot allows some great expansion.Battery life I have found to be really good as long as the 20hrs suggested by Sansa. Sync with Media player's and create playlists. Voice recorder built-in Mic works real well. Cons: Movies must be converted first. Summary: I think over all this is a great buy. I would definitely suggest this to some first time MP3 buyers. It has all the features and enough room at 8gb and an expansion slot.Pros: It is small and easy to use. Really good product
It allows you to see what you want to play along with having an option to make a play list . It is swall and portable and connects easily to the computer. The program that you download to convert video is easy to use. The preset FM radio is also a good feature. That being said I wish that it was a little more durable for the price you pay. Also it would be better if it had an external speaker to listen w/o headphones. I has better than average volume but I wish it was a little louder. One more feature I wish it offered is being able to listen to music while the player is charging. That being said, I would recommend it to my friends because it offers more good than bad. The Sansa series is awesome
The Sansa series media player is a simple elegant package that would fit most users needs. We have three - my wife (mainly for the radio and podcasts), my son (age 6, mainly for audio books ripped to mp3) and myself (audio books and songs) It can store several thousands of songs, it has a radio, it is a voice recorder, it plays movies (after some manipulation). It is easy and intuitive to use with a decent battery life - and for you iPod users out there who have had to ship your iPods off at great expense and time - you can replace the battery yourself for about $10. The Sansa series comes in two versions. They are almost identical, except that version 1 only supports SD cards up to 2GB, whereas version 2 supports SD cards up to 16GB. The screen, at 1.8", is really too small to watch anything more visually complicated than Saturday morning cartoons. Version 1 Sansas can have the Rockbox application installed which in theory will allow it to read SD cards larger than 2GB. I installed Rockbox, but was not able to access 2GB+ cards and went back to the original Sansa firmware. The Sansa is not longer manufactured by SanDisk and has been replaced with the Fuze. Looks about the same but with a slightly larger screen.

Good gadget
I bought this item because the seller (big thanks) had said it is version one, so RockBox capable. Original firmware absolutelly not good. It is strange, why Sandisk firmware dated 4 of october 2008 can't recognize microSD HC cards, only MicroSD = 2G, while RockBox recognize 4,8 and 16G cards? RockBox I immediatelly flashed to the player - really good firmware, I don't need to convert my FLAC files to MP3 or, yet worse, to WMA, to listen it - I can just place its on the player. M4A (or AAC) files also playable in RockBox only, not in original firmware. Pro: Very good build quality. Metal back cover. Good battery time - about 20 hours. Very, very decent quality of sound. RockBox capable (only V1 orignal firmware, V3 have yet incompatible hardware) MicroSD cards expand storage up to 16 or ... Comparative weak output volume, e.g. Denon AH-NC732, portable headphones, begins sound very good only near of highest volume level, yet I must confirm, that W1000 sounds OK. Original headphones must go to the bin...
