This handy dashboard mounting Garmin GPS navigation device is also voice-activated. This means you can ask directions and open up the menu while keeping your hands on the wheel. It also allows you to make hands-free phone calls. It uses Bluetooth to connect to your phone. Spoken commands make driving both more convenient and safer, but if you'd rather use manual inputs to choose a route, you can do so with this GPS. The touchscreen and manual keypad on this nüvi GPS unit make it easy to manually select your destination.The Garmin nuvi 2460 GPS receiver includes Lane Assist with junction view. This feature gives you advance notice of which lane to move into for upcoming turns and exits, which is very helpful when driving on unfamiliar roads. This Garmin nuvi GPS model's software also includes the trafficTrends feature. It uses a database of historical driving time data to improve estimated arrival times. The myTrends predictive routing capability even saves data on the routes your vehicle regularly travels. It uses the data to predict the destination of its owner based on previous GPS usage. With no spoken or manual commands needed, it provides an ETA and relevant traffic information at the top of the screen.Accessories for the Garmin nuvi GPS 2460LMT and LT models include the owner manual, power cable, and suction cup mount. Available add-on accessories include safety cameras, portable friction, and dashboard mount-type alternatives. Protective carrying cases are also available.The Garmin nüvi 2460 GPS series comes in two models. The 2460LT provides lifetime traffic updates. The 2460LMT will update both map and traffic data for the lifetime of the device. Both the nuvi 2460LT and the 2460LMT come preloaded with City Navigator NT street maps for Canada, the US, and Mexico. They also include millions of points of interest and speed limit data for most major roads. The 2460LMT is bundled with the Garmin nuMaps Lifetime. The LMT lifetime map updates include all of North America along with Hawaii and the Caribbean. An FM traffic receiver provides information on traffic conditions. Map changes can be downloaded to the 2460LMT by connecting it to a computer using the included USB cable.A 5-inch, full-color touch screen makes it easy to check road conditions and view maps on the Garmin nuvi. You can also take this portable navigator with you while you walk or bike. It will provide pedestrian directions to your destination. When the trip's too long to bike or walk, the ecoRoute feature calculates the most fuel-efficient route to get from A to B. This helps you save money while minimizing your carbon footprint.     Love it! Great features and price.

    GARMIN 2460LMT (refurb) I had an entry-level Garmin for about 4-5 years before I ordered this one. I liked that this one had the lifetime maps, the larger screen, and that the price of this model was only $25-30 more than just a map update for my little rope-start GPS unit (Garmin's map updates are way too expensive). It sat in the box for a few months waiting for me to re-input the addresses into the "favorites" but it's been in operation for just over a month now and I really, really like it. It's a bit more complex in the set-up and use, but it should get easier the more useage it gets; would have liked a full user's manual instead of just the "Quick Start get-you-going" pamphlet. And yes, I know you can read it on-line but sometimes, that's just not real handy. In addition to ...

    Solid, high quality unit, great value.

    Exactly what a GPS receiver should be; easy to use, fast and efficient interface, acquires satellites quickly, customizable home screen, multiple voice options (US, British, Australian, male, female), good battery life (approx. 2 hours), etc. I do wish the screen was higher resolution (of course, that would mean higher price too) and that some of the advanced features were easier to use.

    Garmin

    Doesn't pick up you voice very well. Could show the names of smaller roads other than just main roads. Have to manually change states. Somewhat outdated compared to oem vehicle factory installed versions. Biggest complaint as mentioned is the poor recognition of voice commands.

    Great GPS

    This is the best GPS I've ever had. Many features most don't have, clear to read, and voice command is helpful. I was excited to find one when the onboard gps died in our van. Now both cars have this GPS.

    Not a good experience on a refurbished

    I bought this Nuvi 2460 (refurbished) the day after Thanksgiving 2012. I had sent it back twice already since and I'm getting ready to send it back the third time. The problem the first time was that the addresses (5 addresses on 5 different cities), the addresses that is suppose to be on the right side shows as on the left. The second time it was a battery issue.. it lasted less than 15 minutes on a full charge. After they replaced the battery, now the addresses shows as neither on the left or right it will say arrived at. It's dissapointing especially if you are not familiar w/ the area. If I had not had another GPS Nuvi265W, maybe I will say this is normal. My old Nuvi 265W is very accurate. I was planning to give this away but now decided to keep it and the 2460 as my calculator or as ...
