Zombie's "Masterpiece" Fun/Grossout!
The first time I sat in a theater to watch House of a 1000 Corpses, my wife walked out after about two minutes. I hung in there in a horrid fascination with one of the wierdest, most bizarre and somewhat tongue in cheek horror movies. No character is actually sympathetic are even likable but most of them are memorable. This is a great Halloween movie although I would only recommend it to those who like movies like the original ( 1970's versions) Hills Have Eyes or Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Zombie spins and creates a wicked tale, with truly scary characters and makes up odd and disturbing "legends", especially Dr. Satan and the huge "freak" Tiny. As frightening as this can be ( I can't imagine anyone showing this to kids) it also has a bizarre comedic twist. I put this movie in the same ... This is one of the cinema exercises where there are certainly no limits to what's on screen. Also having Michael Pollard and Karen Black in the movie adds another absurd turn. This in indeed a real "Horror Movie"

A TOP 5 for major horror movie fans!
This movie takes you on a journey straight to hell on earth! The never ending house w/all the many, many rooms of evil, death, and dismemberment. Oh, and there's even a "show" that this crazy ass family put on that would make you go, "Um, we need to go NOW"! If you are a TRUE horror buff, then this is THE film for you! So long as you like violence, murder, insanity and the like...In other words, the "world news" of the silver screen! LOL. Rob Zombies Wife plays a hot, REALLY disturbed chick, and she cultivated this laugh that sends chills down your spine! The creativity of this film is DARK, edgy, and definitely gets your attention! Makes you want to keep your happy inside your own home next time it rains, and not on the streets! So grab some popcorn, a good drink, and someone you can ... Double Feature Delight - House 1K C and Devil's Rejects
I waited a long time after its release to see this film expecting some garbage from a heavy metal rock star who thinks he can direct. I was totally wrong. Rob Zombie is obviously a true horror film afficionado and has developed an amazing pair of films. He is on par with Carpenter, Cronenberg, and Romero. In 1000 Corpses, Zombie has the audience completely horrified by the acts of the psychotic family the film centers around. In Rejects, even though this family is still doing wonderful things such as skinning people alive, he manages to turn them into anti-heroes who you horrifyingly find yourself cheering for by the film's end. Captain Spaulding has got to rank in the top 100 movie characters ever to grace the silver screen. I am dying to try his fried chicken. Definitely see 1000 ... Ode To The 1970s- A Poetic Study by Rob Zombie
If you enjoyed the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, you will find House of 1000 Corpses a great homage to the classic. The clothes are well-thought out for the 1970s- no extreme disco stuff. The police in most horror movies are always useless and stupid, these cops are more realistic.This film is creepy, though the first time I saw it I didn't really understand it. From the beginning, you're not sure who to trust. This movie has everything- inbred cannibals, a giant, Rob Zombie in a sheep costume, a mental institution, clowns, and Chris Hartwick the host from one of those terrible TV shows (I think the original Blind Date, maybe Fear Factor). My favorite scene is the scarecrows... and I wont say anything else about it. A great soundtrack by Rob Zombie (or White Zombie, same general ... Better then expected...Mind Warping Horror Fun!
I thought I would try another Rob Zombie film to re-affirm my likes and dislikes about his movie-making style, influences and horror techniques. This movie truly is a work of psycho-horror art. I was thoroughly impressed with its' out-landish yet somehow believeable theme and mind warping mental patient family that gracefully enflicts so much terror and pain happily upon the lives of the casual passers-by of their humble estate. This is my favorite Rob Zombie film to date, and one of my all time favorite horror flicks ever. I consider myself fairly critical about the films I watch and I usually judge them pretty harshly but if you look for the psychotic despondency of the family and victims in this movie, the fun loving spirit that is ripped away from the youngsters that are entrapped ... I thought I would try another Rob Zombie film to re-affirm my likes and dislikes about his movie-making style, influences and horror techniques. This movie truly is a work of psycho-horror art. I was thoroughly impressed with its' out-landish yet somehow believeable theme and mind warping mental patient family that gracefully enflicts so much terror and pain happily upon the lives of the casual passers-by of their humble estate.
