"Sucker Punch" is an action packed, steam punk style sci-fi that includes enough action for a handful of movies. This sci-fi movie includes the story of a girl named Babydoll. She is in an asylum where she is scheduled to have a lobotomy. In order to escape her very scary and dismal reality, she creates a world in her imagination where she can escape with the help of her friends: Rocket, Blondie, Amber, and Sweet Pea. The girls of "Sucker Punch" are pitted against three super villains that endeavor to hold them captive. These villains are Madam Gorki, Blue, and High Roller. "Sucker Punch" has an odd feel throughout the movie with a gritty scene, stylized looks, and plenty of gun fights. The 3-disc set includes an extended cut of the film, the theatrical version of the film, a number of commentaries and documentaries, and motion comics to tell the story. There are also other extras on the 3-disc set, including storyboards, picture galleries, and a dozen walk-ons.

One of 2011 underrated movies but visually good and overall entertaining
I rarely purchase DVD’s or Blu-ray any longer but wanted the extras with this one. I got it at a very discounted price so it was well worth it. My wife, who had never seen it, really liked it. This movie got a lot of backlash for painting women in inferior roles where they fantasize their way out of bonds and exploit there sexuality to sell the movie. Really? Thankfully women are once again starting to enjoy their sexuality and their sensuality, being so tired of others bashing them for exploring that side of themselves. Not every movie need to have the powerful female that no one has ever wronged. I admit there needed to be some checks and balance, otherwise it goes back to women never getting string lead roles but the focus in this movie is not the male villains at all. The focus ... The focus is on the females and the fantasies that play out, in one of the character’s minds (at least I think it was only in one) to give her and the rest confidence to be accomplished and win in their real and miserable world. It plays out like a manga fantasy at times, with lots of effects and CGI and of course you must suspend reality. It looks great on a 4K HDR TV. “Oh, and one other thing” it has what any good movie must have, a solid soundtrack. Every song goes great with the fantasy scene to the point I have this in my iTunes play list.

Zack Snyder's greatest film to date.
This is a fantastic film. Most people don't get it. I understand that. But most people are idiots! First of all, consider this to be something along the lines of Sin City. This movie doesn't take place in the real world. Ok? neither does Harry Potter or Star Wars so just get the F over it people who say it is weird or nor realistic. I enjoyed the Lord of the Rings movies and I am pretty confident Middle Earth never really existed. So, now we understand that this starts in an alternate type world, and that world has three layers or "perceptions" if you will. World one: 1950's America aka Reality. World two: Revisionist History or the retelling of the tell post procedure. World three: dream scape Once you understand this tale is told out of sequence you can understand why world one looks ... This is a fantastic film. Most people don't get it. I understand that. But most people are idiots! First of all, consider this to be something along the lines of Sin City. Great visuals/audio. Story line was on par and acting was poor at times.
If you're putting your hopes into this movie as being one of the best movies that you've ever seen, you'll be disappointed. The movie is average: Some poor acting, but some amazing special effects and audio. I read many reviews where people were lost, as this has a "triple layer" between reality, perception and dreams. It's not that hard to follow and there is not a lot of symbolism. What it is was: entertaining. I didn't mind the over the top sequencing, as it was after all a dream. The acting could have been better, but you know you're not watching this for the unbelievable acting performances anyway. I'm glad I didn't see it at the movies, but I am glad I bought in on Blu-ray. good movie, good effects, good music, recommended XD
i enjoyed sucker punch's extended edition better than the theatrical one because of the extra scenes. over 17 more minutes plus watching what was removed helps you understand the movie better. the effects on blu-ray are definitively worth watching and might i add that the 17 extra minutes are purely action sequences not seen in the original movie, especially stunts with guns and fight scenes, which make it even better. i thoroughly enjoyed this film and totally recommend it to action fans and the soundtrack is exceptional and fits perfectly though i suggest that the plot is not all perfect and could have been better.i enjoyed sucker punch's extended edition better than the theatrical one because of the extra scenes. over 17 more minutes plus watching what was removed helps you understand the movie better. the effects on blu-ray are definitively worth watching and might i add that the 17 extra minutes are purely action sequences not seen in the original movie, especially stunts with guns and fight scenes, which make it even better. i thoroughly enjoyed this film and totally recommend it to action fans and the soundtrack is exceptional and fits perfectly though i suggest that the plot is not all perfect and could have been better.

No Good , If it had a happier ending it might have elevated my opinion but basically it stunk
The main character barely had a speaking part and anybody could have played the role .. The special effects and CGI were great if you like a video game type movie..
