The Pet Sounds 40th Anniversary (Limited) (CD & DVD)-The Beach Boys. I bought the CD & DVD because I am a great fan of the group. This particular collection is unique due to the timeless music. A masterpiece of the 60's. At the time, the Beach Boys were influnced by the Beatles Rubber Soul and wanted to capture their musical sounds. Some of the popular songs are Wouldn't It Be Nice and God Only Knows. Every song on the CD is good to listen to. The DVD tells how they made Pet Sounds and has orignal videos of Sloop John B and Good Vibrations a kinds of Monkeeish video. The CD has 14 songs listed. Has the more in stereo for a total of 27. That's Not Me
OK, everybody has an opinon about the Beach Boys and most people have a bad opinion. You can't blame people for laughing at them. The name itself brings to mind pretty boys in speedos frollicking on the beach. But, if you can get past that, and if you can get past the one or two silly songs the oldies station plays, you will discover that they made some fantastic tunes. This is by far their best album and any serious music collector who's not afraid of getting beat up by their friends should own it. 4 Stars.OK, everybody has an opinon about the Beach Boys and most people have a bad opinion. Pet Sounds CD & DVD by Beach Boys
I grew up listening to the BBoys and attending their concerts. I identify with their experiences and the ideas they sing about in their music. This CD in particular was a powerful force in my search for self discovery and making sense of my life's experiences. The music of this album now as then, moves me to introspection and self-evaluation. I love the Beach Boys' sound that is consistent throughout but I love the diversity of the music, the harmonies, and the lyrics.
