Age Mkes A Difference
I purchased this CD because I loved Jeff Buckley's version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. I still think Jeff's version is wonderful, but the rest of the CD is aimed at a much younger generation. I did not like this CD, but I am not certain that this was not due to age and taste in music. However, it did not go to waste, I gave the CD to my 11 year old grandson and he seems to "get it". The upside is that it did lead me to Leonard Cohen and him I get. I love his music, lyrics and style. My only issue now is why has it has taken me so long to 'discover' L.C.? My sister knew of him... so apparently I live somewhere just east of Mars. Finally, I would not rule out this music for a much younger group, but I personally was not impressed by it, and disappointed because it seemed to get ... Jeff Buckley's Grace
I love Jeff Buckley.....he is my favorite male vocalist of all time. Grace is one of my most favorite albums! This copy was a gift for my cousin, and although she was not spellbound by this wonderful CD, she is also not the music buff that I am. Grace is a work of art! This is probably the 6th copy I've purchased, because each time I've lent it out, I never get it back. I know all about Jeff's tragic life story, and want to continue teaching others about him. I'm sure I will be purchasing many more copies of Grace in the future.I love Jeff Buckley.....he is my favorite male vocalist of all time. Grace is one of my most favorite albums! Dream Brother
This is very simple, very cut and dry: "Grace" is hands down, one of the top three best albums of the 90's. From the First Track (Mojo Pin) to the Very Last (Dream Brother), this album is flawless...Every Vocalist Dreams of having the range that Buckley does and if they don't, then there is something wrong with them. Angelic and a top tier harmonizer, his voice jabbed and touched us while he was alive and still penetrates us long after his death. And the music, ah, the music...well, let's just say that "Grace" is an album for love making, for mourning, for autumn nights, for car rides...simply put, it is an album that succeeds at requiring the repeat button to be pressed. Best Tracks on the Album: "Last Goodbye" , "Lover, You Should've Come Over" , "Dream Brother" Buy this album, you ... Not my genre.
Aside from one song, Haleluliah, I did not care much for this CD. In all fareness to the artist, I really knew nothing about his work prior to purchasing this CD and it is just not the gendre that I prefer. I began hearing Haleluliah over the holiday season and absolutely loved it. Jeff Buckley's voice on this cut sends chills down the spine. But this one cut is so completely different from the balance of the CD it sin't funny. I merely advise others to research the type of music an artist is known for before blindly purchasing a CD based on one song as I did.Aside from one song, Haleluliah, I did not care much for this CD.
