Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket
This is is an two dvd set of gundam 0080. this ova was made shortly after "Chars Counterattack" by sunrise to mark Gundam's 5th aniversery. this was the first gundam production not to be written or produced by the creatior of the series. it centers around the side 6 colony of labot and the gundam unit RX-78-NT1 known as "alex". the story starts with a zeon team attacking the base that is shipping the alex in to space for it's shakedown run. Later we meet Al a kid who is facnated by war. trying to win a bet about the eff haveing moble suits he try to get a picture of one at the dock. only to get a picture of some large crates. the next day zeon attacks the colney and al trades his camera for an zeon rank pin. and the story begains. The animation was done by the same team who did cca so ... The contents of the set are the same as the two seprate dvd releses. only advantage to this one is you can fit the series in to the space of one dvd. i would reccomend this to some one who does not own the seperate dvds and wants to see this work.

A terrific side-story
I purchased Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket six weeks ago and watched the whole story immediately once the boxset finally arrived. Although the opening scene in the very first episode was one of the best Gundam battles I've ever watched, the first half of this series was a bit slow, but in hindsight the pacing was probably necessary in order to build up the relationship between Al and Bernie and Christina. Otherwise, the ending of this series wouldn't have had such an emotional impact. The reason I decided to purchase this series is that it tells a very different story set in the same time period as Mobile Suit Gundam albeit much shorter. Nevertheless, people had told me that it is definitely one of the best Gundam series out there and I'm inclined to agree with them after ... War from a child's eyes
Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket is a tremendously effective chapter of the Gundam saga. Taking place in a backwater/neutral colony during the closing days of the One Year War, it covers the story of a young boy who stumbles upon a secret war between Zeon and Federation forces in the colony over a prototype Federation mobile suit, culminating in the threat of a nuclear strike on the colony. The mecha designs for this series are fantastic, and the combat sequences, while brief, are exciting to watch and extremely well-done. However, the big story here is the human aspect of the anime and the conflict - this is by no means an anime that children would understand, as it delves into questions of morality, relativism, and the effects of war on a child. We watch as Al, the young boy ... Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket is a tremendously effective chapter of the Gundam saga. The character development in this 6-episode OVA is fantastic, with no clear "bad guys" or "good guys" present - virtually each character demonstrates their humanity in a way that makes them more than cookie-cutter characters. A definite recommendation for those who want more than just cool mecha blasting each other to pieces.

Awesome Anime even as short as it is deserves to be bought.
The Products contents such as the quality of the DVDs is amazing verses other sources that ruin picture quality. The sound is the reason they created Dolby surround sound. My only problem with this product and products of that era is the cleaning up of the original animation. But its understandable that other titles suffer from this flaw due to the age of the discs they couldn't fix those problems back then as they do now so easily.
