À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Civilization III: Conquests takes Sid Meier's award-winning strategy title and offers a more intimate look at specific regions and conflicts throughout 6,000 years of history. Scenarios are designed to be completed within hours instead of days or weeks, with a greater emphasis on cultures clashing with one another instead of peacefully coexisting. Eight new civilizations have been added to the lineup, including the Sumerians, Mayans, Phoenicians, and more. New resources to manage include stone, tobacco, jade, maize, and even exotic birds. Each civilization also features distinct units with the potential to perform stealth attacks, enslave people, or to use other abilities.

Locked alliances allow for more conflict within the different regions, and the addition of volcanoes could spell the end for a civilization if war does not. Both multiplayer and editing functions have been enhanced, to the point where players can alter advances, units, civilizations, wonders, and maps. Other additions to the series include satellite technology, maps that show the impact of war (such as craters), five new wonders to build, and two new civilization types: seafaring and agricultural. As a special bonus, all of the features introduced in the first expansion pack, Civilization III: Play the World, have been included in Conquests.

  • A good game

Basic summary: awesome, well done strategy game. But it might not be your type of game. It is more well balanced than Civ 2, and more realistic too. The diplomacy, especially trading, makes a ton of sense. It has most of the good features from Call to Power, Alpha Centaurii, and Civ 2, including: Realistic Bombardment: In real life, catapults and such can't annihilate troop concentrations, but are good in seiges. Capturing units: workers( they build roads and such) and artillery-type units can be captured instead of destroyed. Borders: you can actually see them; none of this "you're in my city radius" crap. However, it does lack some fun aspects of Civ 2, such as fundamentalist governments (not very politically correct) and the ability to choose between a male and female leader (each ...

  • Civilization II

The game was awesome!!!! I liked it because you can pick any country and then pick if you want to be a king, queen, prince, princess, warlord, emperor, etc. Then you build villages and make armies ,and then become friends and enemies with neighbouring kingdoms. But you have to be carefull where you build your kingdom because you have to make sure they are getting enough food, water, and protection. You also can build wonders of the world like the great pyrimids, the hanging gardens, the eiffel tower, etc. But to be able to build the things you have to raise tax rates and go exploring to get money. You also can't raise the taxes to much or your city will be in chaos. Things also have to be discovered to be the best kindom in the world so you have to get explorers and discover the alphabet, ...

  • Super Great Game....Civilization is a Great Franchise software game to own!

Loads great for Windows 2000 and XP.....plays great, just like it did for me when it came out new over 12 years ago. If you try to load this on Windows 7, it may or may not work completely normally. My strong suggestion, is to do like I did, find a good computer with Windows 2000 or XP and use it just for old games like this! Civ III was so fun! I remember that when Civ IV came out, telling myself, "no game will beat Civ III"....but Civ IV is even better! Especially the diplomacy interactions on Civ IV. Civ III has the ability to load Scenarios that are super fun! You must have Civ III to enjoy Conquests supplemental package with Civ III. Conquests has the Napoleon scenario, WW II in the Pacific, etc, etc.....This game is worth buying if you like the supplement packages to play with ...

  • DOA - CIV III Design Flaw

Product is definitely not plug and play. After multiple false starts and a little on-line research, it appears that I am not alone. Civilization III has a design flaw that requires more to correct than I have skill. Consideration should be given to withdrawing this product offering or at least warning prospective purchasers of issue.

  • Excellent

My 9 year old loves it! As far as I can tell he has learne dalot about world history and asks more questions, I wish all games were this enlightning. I am giving this a big thumbs up and would suggest this to parents who might not appreciate video games in general as this one will really change your mind. It has given more creativity in play than any other game so far.
