Out of this world looks, sounds of glorious Din
Owning a Fender amp was not on my list of priorities. But when the chance to own this Black Sparkle combo was presented to me, it's looks was my motivation, maybe reselling or modding...but what I was to discover, made me question my own audiophile addictions. This amp stands out among, my Egnaters, Black-stars, Jet City's, Haydens, Orange's, Peavy's and Vox's. Even my beloved Hughes and Kettner may have to wait in the confines of my studio...My Blues Jr III has a truly unique voice, giving all my guitars a new and glassious tone that can only be described as gallant and classy. Fender, what was I living under a rock the size of elephant feces? Or was the name on 30 guitars of mine void of amps, not of old or dead rockers, not learned in the art of rectifiers, Boutique's and drop tunings. ... Owning a Fender amp was not on my list of priorities. And again, this limited addition Black 70's Sparkle of metallic Blue, Purple and Silver, enhanced by a lone opaque white jeweled lamp, giving the glitter a moment to appear then disappear back into the black. Truly a special amp, not going to let this one ever go, lifer !

I'm loving the Humboldt Blues Jr - great little gigging amp!
The Blues Jr has been a workhorse for gigging guitarists for years now. I never owned one but have used them many many times at various venues and studios. What I liked was the rich harmonic content and gooey-ness of the tone. I didn't like the brittle top end or the flubby low notes at higher gain settings. The Humboldt version solves the brittle top with the Hemp cone speaker - way more smooth and pleasant. I've learned to dial in the sweet spot to lessen the flubby low end. This is actually not a fault of the amp but inherent in a small 15 watt combo when the power section and speakers are pushed to their limits. Overall I am loving the tone of this amp, verb sounds very dimensional, it screams with my strat, barks with my tele and at lower volumes gives me a surprisingly good jazz tone ... Great little amp that's bigger than it's looks.
I kept reading about mods, upgrades, tubes and thought why buy ? I finally decided to purchase one and find out and was truly impressed out of the box. It has a unique sound but thats not a bad thing. After a few weeks I decided to change the tubes and speaker. It's back to stock. Enjoy it for what it is. If you want something different, buy another amp This thing rocks

Rockin' For Jesus!
Spectacular Tube Amp Sound that takes pedal very well. I only play at church and this delivers all the overdrive and delay effects perfectly. 3 Preamp tubes and two power amp tubes give this baby a warm tube sound in a nice portable package.

Great little amp, for the price range, can't be beat
This is a classic Fender amp with classic Fender tone, only in a manageable size. 15 watts of all tube power enables you to play it cranked around 10 and get the most out of the tube tone capability. It only weighs 30 some pounds, and is easily carted around, yet plenty loud enough to hold down small gigs. At any large gig, simply mic the bad boy like you would any amp. It is a one channel amp, but has a sort of "boost" mode called "FAT". The FAT switch can be activated by pressing the push button on the amp or by purchasing a one button footswitch. The amp can also run an external speaker if desired. Real tank reverb sounds fantastic, but you cannot activate the reverb via a footswitch. I've heard it responds well to stop box rigs, but have not yet tried any. For the price range ...
