Set in the science fiction realms of the film franchise crossover, Aliens vs. Predator is a high-definition action-adventure composed of tense, violent, kill-or-be-killed scenarios. Following the design concept of earlier AvP shooters, the game pits three different factions against one another. Players take the roles of deadly xenomorph aliens, stealthy predators, and heavily armed space marines, to do battle with enemies from the other two factions. Evolved to protect the brood, the alien xenomorphs are unmatched in melee combat, and excel at surprise attacks with their overpowering strength. Born of a species of hunters, the predator is a master of well-timed assaults and agile attacks. Physically weak but at a technological advantage, the human marines use heavy firepower to take down enemies from a distance. In many of the game's levels, warriors from all three factions must fight against one another in the same battles, at the same time.<br><br>Players will have to fight hard to survive, but it pays to fight smart, as well. In some situations, characters can manipulate the environment, or accomplish other puzzle-solving feats, in order to put their enemies at a disadvantage. Single players take the roles of each species in turn, as they progress through the game's three campaigns. Multiplayer configurations are also available to Internet-connected gamers, offering the chance to play against other human-controlled warriors, in deathmatch and team-based competitions. Sega's Aliens vs. Predator was developed by Rebellion, whose previous work with the series includes Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem for PSP, the 1999 home computer game Aliens Versus Predator, and 1994's well received Alien vs. Predator for Atari Jaguar. In creating the game's three-pronged storyline, designers took special inspiration from the original films and from the Dark Horse comics series.<br><br>Packaged in a special steel case, the Hunter Edition of Aliens vs. Predator contains the complete game and documentation as well as a hardcover edition of Dark Horse Comics' original Aliens vs. Predator graphic novel, a Weyland Yutani corporation sleeve badge, a 3D image postcard, and an alien facehugger figurine. The special edition also offers access to four additional multiplayer maps: "Docks," "Outpost," "Machine," and "Hives."

If you like Aliens or Predator give this game a shot
The Hunter Edition comes with an awesome mini comic book, DLC and a crazy rubber baby alien that you can bend different ways. The game is interesting too. It has 3 campaigns, each supporting different character. The 3 campaigns include Marines, Aliens, and Predator. Yes, Predator has the best campaign. The Aliens are quiet intersting as well. The marines is interesting as well. Online is a drag so don't bother. For a 2010 AVP game, any fan will be sastified.The Hunter Edition comes with an awesome mini comic book, DLC and a crazy rubber baby alien that you can bend different ways. An amazing video game experience! Must have for fans of the franchises!
There were a lot of reviewers who found this game underwhelming when it released last year. Let me assuage your fears by saying that this game is a stellar experience. If you are a fan of the Alien, Predator, or AvP franchises, then you will love this game. Even those who aren't particularly into those universes will find something to enjoy here. Three separate campaigns for the three species shoot the replay value through the roof for single player alone. Every campaign feels distinct and unique, with the Marine game showcasing the more typical FPS gameplay, but with a survival horror twist. The Alien and Predator campaigns are vastly different in style and substance from the Marine game, so much that this game feels like three in one. The Hunter Edition is a great buy at any price, and can now be found on eBay for as low as 40 bucks (I paid 38.02 myself). It comes with a mini facehugger replica that is very detailed, a 3D Lenticular card (which, while neat, is the lamest of the pack-ins), a mini hardcover of the first ever AvP comics, which launched the crossover back in 1989, and a Weyland-Yutani Corp sleeve badge, which is totally awesome. I would have bought it for that alone to be honest. It's a very high quality patch unlike some I've seen in other video game special editions (I'm looking at you Halo Reach Legendary Edition). The game comes packaged in a very nice steel book case with an Alien on the front and a Predator on the reverse side, very classy. In my copy the plastic sleeve that goes over the steel book case left a slight scratch on the edge of the case, but I don't expect this to be the norm. Oh, it also comes with a code to download 4 new maps for the multiplayer for free, normally they would cost 10 bucks. I have yet to experience the multiplayer, but I've heard plenty of good things. All things considered, this is a phenomenal product, and a must own for any self-respecting Aliens, Predator, or AvP fan.

Best AvP game yet!
You play each campaign feeling like the Predator and Xenomorph from the movies. When you play as a marine it’s a whole other experience. As a marine you’re set in a really great horror game.
