WeMo HomeStarter Kit
I am currently running 8 WiFi WeMo globes, 3 Insight Switches, A Motion Sensor and a regular WeMo switch. All of these are runing via either one WeMo Link or directly via my Modem router. The Wemo App is very slow but I have found that if your not too quick at selecting options or making rules with it (it needs time to carry out what you ask) it works fine. I have about 16 different rules controlling the lights and switches but sometimes A new rule will conflict with a time slot of an already existing rule. I have one Insight turning on my electric blanket nightly for two hours. A motion sensor controls 3 lights between 7pm and 6am for trips to the loo and bathroom. An insight switch controlls(turns on an off) my stero speakers, but you need to leave you stereo on to do this as if you ... So I leave it all running and just switch the speakers on and off. I combine this with a google Chromecast Audio device and I have remote WiFi speakers in my kitchen. I also have two apps (One App and a script program) that I found online that allows me to control all my devices from my Win10 Laptop. They are called Home Remote found at microsoft Store and a script called WemoServer (have to search for that one) that simply allows you to turn devices on or off. The Home Remote app also allows you to use the dimming features of the globes. No so in the WemoServer. As far as setting Rules goes, I can only set these from within the WeMo app itself. But once they are set they work great. Oh and yes I can control them from anywhere there is a WiFi connection. To connect the globes can be tricky at first (mainly due to not being familiar with the methods) but Plug in the WeMo Link and wait for it to boot and go Green? Connect to the Links own WiFi with your mobile phone. Disconnect from home network for the moment. Open Wemo App and connect to Link and follow the prompts. Once you get the message "You can now remote control your devices" you can then close the app, reconnect to your home network, open the app again and click refresh. It should detect all your device. If it can't see them, click on "More" and click "Add a device" it will search for devices. When it finds them you need to click "Save" at the bottom of the app.. Doing this all from memory so read everything on screen before you click on anything. Believe me, It does work. Sure there are probably better setups out there but they too will have glitches. Home Control is just new and will get better. For now with what I have, I love it.

Not a good product
The setup for th is product is a real pain. Nothing works as it is demonstrated in the online tutorials. One bulb finally worked after having to download and pay for a 3rd party app as the WeMo app is absolutely the worst piece of crap,i've ever seen. My one working light bulb is STILL not recognized by the WeMo app.. But works fine and worked immediately via the 3rd party WeMo Leds app.. Which cost me $4.99. The second bulb refuses to reset and has a 2 second delay when turning on an off. This package is a total waste of money. Buy the Phillips Hue starter kit instead.
