But when the novice’s fighter is knocked out by Mickey O’Neil (Brad Pitt), a wildcard Irish gypsy boxer, the boys convince him to fight in their boxer’s place in Brick Top’s rigged match. Unfortunately, Mickey proves to be highly unreliable and the duo find themselves in trouble as the fearless fighter refuses to "go down in the fourth" as planned. Luckily, the gypsy’s prowess and technique impress Brick Top -- saving all three from the fate of his pig farm. The catch is Mickey has to fight again -- and has to get it right this time -- since Brick Top more than happy to use brutality and bloodshed to make his point. In New York, news that Franky has been waylaid by the bookies sends Avi into a tailspin and he and his henchman hop on a plane to London. They hire local legend, 'Bullet Tooth' Tony (Vinnie Jones) to find Franky and the diamond. The sorry fate of the diamond courier is soon discovered and the hunt for the missing stone launches everyone into a madcap spiral which threatens to spin out of control... Double-crossing, double bluffing and double-dealing abound as various parties pursue personal agendas -- all of them illegal, some of them farcical and most of them destined to end in blood, pain and retribution. As plans go haywire and tempers fray, dogs, diamonds, caravans, boxers and assorted weaponry get swept up into a chaotic free-for all... MOVIE MISTAKES Mistake #1 When Frankie Four Fingers first gets the diamond, he claims that it is 86 carats, but throughout the rest of the film it is referred to as a 84 carat diamond. Mistake #2 Brad Pitt's tattoos appear to smudge during the last fight. Mistake #3 Look closely at the characters list at the end titles: it reads "Gyspy Kids" instead of "Gypsy Kids". Mistake #4 When Sol, Vinnie and Tyrone are stopped at the fuel station the dog in the back is wearing a studded collar in one scene and in the next scene where Tyrone crashes the car the dog is wearing a chain collar.

Tense, brutal and funny movie.
This crime suspense/comedy is partially tense, sometimes brutal but mostly funny. The plot is simple, yet the English accent is not always easy to follow. Brad Pitt demonstrates his true acting skills in his untypical role of an English gypsy street fighter who does not want to fit into the mold formed for him by the mob. He is the loser throughout but in the end he wins and the viewer, who normally hates superhero movies, is actually satisfied.This crime suspense/comedy is partially tense, sometimes brutal but mostly funny. Folowing on from the very enjoyable and original low budget Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, this could almost be considered Lock, Stock part II as it reunites most of the cast and crew and it's another gangster movie set in London. However, although the stories are similar there are enough differences and new twists to allow this movie to be considered as a good and original movie in its own right. Snatch starts with some jocular credits, and the robbery of an Antwerp diamond merchant's office by four thieves disguised as Hasidic Jews. Initially appear in black and white on a succession of CCTV screens, then when they reach their target, they're in colour as they grab the guns concealed on the chest of their leader. Seizing an 86-carat, size of your fist, diamond the robbers head to ... Among the colourful array of characters on parade this time are jewish jewellers (Mike Reid and Dennis Farina), cockney hardman Bullet Tooth Tony (Vinnie Jones), a truly disgusting underground fight promoter by the unlikely name of Brick Top (Alan Ford), a Russian hitman - Boris the blade (Rade Serbedzija), a fight manager - Turkish (Jason Statham), and Irish traveller Mickey O'Neill (Brad Pitt). Ultimately the surprisingly excellent Brad Pitt steals the movie as the boxing 'yardy' nobody can understand but veteran British actor Alan Ford as the disgusting 'Brick Top' runs him close for best performance kudos. Like its predecessor Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch is full of twists and turns and plenty of black humour but unlike its predecessor it's a bit more violent and the language is even stronger. It will probably still be unfairly compared to Tarantino but its still a clever and fun movie. My only criticism of Guy Ritchie would be that he needs to learn that less is sometimes more; the movie doesn't need as many twists and it doesn't need so many alternative showy camera angles and film styles. Don't get me wrong, they're good, just a couple too many. This is a four star movie that could have been five. Pretty much the whole world knows Guy Ritchie's name now. Sadly most people rather insultingly and condescendingly know him as Mr Madonna but just like her first husband cruelly christened Mr Madonna, Sean Penn, Guy Ritchie is a great talent in his own right. However, the acid test of Guy Ritchie's talent will come with his next movie starring 'er indoors (as they say in cockney vernacular), the so far allergic to anything resembling believable acting Madonna. If he can get a decent performance out of Mrs Ritchie he truly will be hailed as a genius.

Good story line, funny, could do without the stuff that made it R rated!
I watched this movie with my Dad. It was funny. After buying it for myself, I realize that there were a lot of things I hadn't noticed when I was younger, like all the swearing. It is still has a good movie line and I think as I get even older, there will be things in it that I will notice that will make me sad that a good movie that didn't require those things to make it good put them in so people would THINK it was good. I'm 16 and when I wanted to show my Grandma, who helped me get it, my Grandpa read the cover and said we should watch something else. After watching it when he did that, I know I can't share it with my little brother or with my even younger cousins. Sad. Oh well, for now, I'm glad I have it and can enjoy it with Dad when we get to see him. I would probably buy it ... I watched this movie with my Dad. It was funny. Never a dull moment.
This movie is great. While it was not meant to be a comedy it will keep you giggling the whole time. Brad Pitt played a excellent role as a Gypsy. For viewers who are not used to watching movies with actors who don accents, it might be somewhat hard to understand the first time around. However, don't let that stop you from watching this wonderful movie. I also reccomend Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. This movie also contains Jason Statham from Snatch.This movie is great.
