    Does not handle streaming

    I had an old Tenda single band router I purchased on close out. It worked fairly well, so I thought they deserved a chance, and purchased this one new. It is easy to set-up and use, but the performance is awful. The old 2.4 G unit works much better. The Tenda AC1900 can not handle any streaming devices. It appears the unit is way under powered for the required processing. Don't waste your money. I had to purchase a Netgear Nighthawk to replace it -which works extremely well.

    Best for wireless and wired

    I was using a Linksys wireless router previously and for many years. Kept having problems on through put on the wired connections, and spotty reception through out my home. I first bought the Tenda for my business and noticed a remarkable improvement throughout the premises which is fairly huge open spaces. Being satisfied with the first one, I recently purchased one for my home. My personal computer is wired from the router. Previously I have been at odds with my internet provider, as they advertised 100mbs and I could get no better than the 40's... With the Tenda, I am consistently getting 85-95mbs. Also I now have consistent coverage through out my "large" home. Great product and way cheaper than its competitors.

    uncertain stability

    the wi fi signal is definitely wider range. The menu has alot of options for tech modifications. The connection at times seems to be inconsistent. If i had to buy another router. Id probably go with an asus or a more modern name brand. The tenda gets the job done for now. Also didn't like the plug jacks being on the rear instead of the sides. Now it cant be hung flat on a network panel.

    Absolutely amazed...

    I wish I had purchased this router MUCH sooner... I'd been told that the router itself rarely made a big speed difference, but this router proved that idea wrong! My old router was purchased from Verizon for my internet setup with them. It claimed to be "extended range," and I assumed coming straight from Verizon that it was good quality (it certainly cost a LOT more). However the Tenda is giving me over 3 times the download speeds, which is absolutely shocking, and range is even slightly increased over the supposed "extended range" previous router. I went from 20 Mbps on a good day with my old router, to over 70 Mbps with the Tendra every day. Installation was a breeze, and it has some nice additional features like an ability to add memory. I've only owned it a week, so I can't ...

    Fast, but drops internet connection.

    I wanted a fast router to replace my wireless n router. I liked the specs and price of this router, and after setting this up and upgrading to an ac wireless card in my laptop, my speed doubled and I was very happy. However, soon I found that the router dropped the connection to my cable modem unpredictably. This NEVER happened with any previous router I have used (Linksys and Netgear), so I am not so happy now. The only solution seems to be to reset the router by unplugging and replugging the power supply. I will not buy a Tenda product again, but will replace this router with another brand of ac router. Too bad it is unreliable, because otherwise I would be happy with this router.
