An action-oriented take on World War II from the development team behind such titles as Homeworld and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, The Outfit has players in command of a three-man squad of no-nonsense specialists. J.D. Tyler is a sniper who also carries a shotgun for when things get a little too close for comfort. Tommy Mac, a heavy weapons expert, prefers to barbecue his foes with a flamethrower. The easygoing Deuce Williams likes to destroy tanks and other vehicles, and few weapons are as effective as the bazooka when discretion is not an option.<br> <br>The Outfit's action takes place from a third-person perspective as players advance through 12 single-player missions that range from reconnaissance to daring rescue attempts. Yet the focus is primarily on dealing heavy damage. All of the environments feature fully destructible objects, including bridges, walls, and structures, as players lay waste to world around them. Rather than arm the soldiers with an arsenal of high-powered weapons from the onset, players must instead earn the tools of the trade by first accumulating field units. Field units are received from completing mission objectives, and they can be spent on an assortment of combat vehicles, air strikes, artillery strikes, reinforcements, and more. A key feature is that these field units can be spent during missions already in progress, allowing players to quickly react to situations by requesting things in the heat of battle.<br> <br>The Outfit includes Xbox Live support for up to eight players in multiple game modes. Players will be able to participate in traditional deathmatch and cooperative play, or try their hand at destruction mode, which involves a race to earn the most field units by destroying as much items as possible. Also available for multiplayer action is a variant on king of the hill, where two teams attempt to capture and hold strategic checkpoints from the opposite faction.

    Suit up soldier theres a " FUN " war to be won....

    The Outfit is a best described as a team based action strategy game. You start off by choosing a character, each has different health levels, speed ratings, weapons, troop commands ect. When you spawn you will also have 4 troops with you. You head out into battle begin killing and destroying the enemy and as you do this you will earn FU's (Field Units). You spend field units to buy gun emplacments, artillary cannons, machine gun nests, various vehicals including jeeps, tanks, half tracks and other weapons of mass destruction. This is all very well done and easy to place on the battlefield. The action is fun, frantic and addictive.     "Next gen" Mercenaries.

    A first generation game on the Xbox 360. Not that there is anything wrong with that it just seems that sometimes it was either through the rushing from the publisher or just bad design choices but overall I really do enjoy this game for what it is. You may be wondering what it is--it really boils down to a linear, more tactical version of Mercenaries (thanks to what they call "Destruction on Demand"). Basically, you are sent through individual missions which are very linear in that you will walk along a path and encounter objectives which usually just involve capturing a building or destroying something, but the way in which you do this is through the placement of armor, gun emplacements and strategic strikes (air and artillery).     Had it for a year and just put it in..great game!!!!

    Well, just as my title says, I have had this for about a year. I got it relatively cheap off of Ebay. The multiplayer is awesome. No one is ever online now (because of other games), so I can not rate the online. It is cool to call in reinforcements, vehicles, and take over bases. You can earn some easy achievements by doing the "side missions" If you don't have this and want a fun game that will last hours (I have played 5 boards and been playing for about 2 hours a board) this will hold you over. Truly a unique and good multiplayer game.

    The Outfit (XBOX 360) Review

    You play as one of 3 different specialists, fighting during WWII. This is the first XBOX 360 Game that I played and was really impressed. But since then, I've played several others, I can say the graphics are not comparable to some of the other 360 Games. The controls took some getting used to. I enjoyed the story line and was pleased that it took a while to actually finish the game. I am the only one here that fininshed it and enjoyed it. Everyone else here became quickly bored with it. It combines the shooting aspect with a lot of strategy. I prefer to have a more strategy type game then just running thru shooting all the bad guys and game over. I purchased my game used for under $20 and it was worth it but I wouldn't pay anymore than that for it.

    A must have for"Mercenaries"and"Freedom Figthers" fans

    This peculiar game has a unique style of gameplay similar to "Mercenaries",The Outfit delivers an awesome third person shooter, the touch of strategy makes it's difference between other WWII games, the game allows players to chose from the american or german army, each with 3 "heroes" which comand a team of soldiers trough an epic campaing, the level of destruction is way much better than "Mercenaries", though, it doesn't really define what "next gen" should be the graphics are pretty good, the level of replay value is high because of it's extraodinary multiplayer modes and online play, the sound effects are what you expect from a good shooter, the soundtrack may not please everyone but that is why there is an option of changing the music in the xbox360 menu.
