    Sky caddy SGX, somewhat disappointed

    I have used the SGX on several different courses, both in Southern & Northern Ca. This my second Sky Caddie rangefinder and even though it supplies more information, this SGX I find is somewhat slow loading up, finding your course, selecting the proper information as you request, and in the sun light the screen can be very difficult to see clearly without moving it around. When you are on a busy course and pace of play is a consideration, the SGX does take some time to get all your measurements. The screen size is great, but really needs to be brighter. The joystick button in the center is the biggest disappointment and is very non-responsive to the touch. I still have not figured out how to control the sensitive of this button.     I'm Happy But Not Thrilled

    Had an SG 4 which was fine for me. Then, when I couldn't recharge it because of the coupling connection on the unit (second time it happened ...first time they fixed it for free and told me it was a design flaw) and Sky Golf told me it would be $40 to fix it I got steamed and just let my membership expire. I was actually looking into laser rangefinders but realized that at my level of play it was more trouble than it was worth. Sooo, on a whim I bid on the SGX (after checking it and other GPS units out at Golfsmith) and won. Glad I did. The images are bright and beautiful. I still don't know how to take full advantage of the SGX's capabilities. My biggest complaint is that there is no physical Users Guide packaged with the product (which retails for about $400!)and I don't feel like ...

    Great product. Useful tool for all skill levels. A must have for any golfer

    Great product! Every golfer, if they can manage to, should own this device or a device like it. You will know what your distances are to the green from anywhere on the hole. No more walking off distances, or relying on yardage markers. You'll know how far you hit every club in your bag as you can mark off your position from wherever you hit the ball, and check the distance when you arrive at the landing spot. It can keep score for you, as well as track various statistics like how many putts you had, how many greens or fairways you've hit, and even directional tendencies on missed fairways. The display can be read in any light, it's clear, and easy to use. I did mark it down 1 star though because the resolution could be a little higher, a la common smartphones everyone has.     Excellent product for course management. Worth it!!!

    I have 5.5index and I love this equipment. Even in Mexico where I live you can download many courses with very accurate references. The SGX is better than previous because you can point a target on the hole using the mouse and administrate your strategy based on current situation. Let’s say you missed your driver on a par five…. It is easy to determine a layup based on your current ability and you gain confidence. There are also many cases where you feel you need to hit a 260yard drive and in reality with a 240 you still have an easy approach. The color screen is easier to read on daylight. You can also create a data base for key stats. The annual fee is expensive (in my case I have to use the global one) is very important you check before if your desire courses are marked otherwise you ...

    SkyGolf SkyCaddie SGX

    I have been using a SG5 for over two years and loved it. Sold that one and bought the SGX to take advantage of the new features. Found the unit to be easy to use, accurate and fun. My playing partners have range finders, Golf Buddy and other products, but are often asking for my readings since they don't have a clear view of the pin or question what their unit says. I felt the $335 I paid was a fair price with retail at $399. I'd recommend the SGX to anyone looking for a good GPS unit. Some folks seem to balk at he annual fees, but from my view it is well worth it for the accurate information you get on each course. The 50 course download is plenty for my usage, and adding and deleting when necessary are not difficult.
