This kit lens has a smooth, silent and quick inner focus mechanism to make it exceptionally fast and nearly silent when recording high-definition movie.The PEN E-PL2's live guide system takes the guesswork out of great photography and videography by allowing you to preview effects at the touch of a button. Want more vivid or muted color in your shot? Want warmer or cooler color? Want a brighter or darker subject, or a sharper or softer background? Simply select live guide and turn the wheel on the back of the camera to slide through numerous photographic and videographic effects. Make adjustments and watch the LCD as the effects are made live - before the image is captured!The E-PL2 provides an overall excellent user experience with a large, easy-to-view 3.0-inch 460,000-dot high-resolution LCD monitor and a control dial. Olympus appreciates that you may not have hours to spend retouching your images on the computer. The E-PL2 has improved art filters with art filter variations that allow users to customize each filter with different moods and effects and an art effect function to add various composition effects to the picture. Six art filters are incorporated including the dramatic tone filter. With the E-PL2's multiple exposure you can shoot one shot, then another and combine them in real time, or capture both shots separately and combine them within the camera later. At the heart of the E-PL2 is a large-size image sensor. This big sensor is inside the much smaller body of the E-PL2. This high-performance 12.3-megapixel live MOS image sensor delivers excellent dynamic range, accurate color fidelity, and state-of-the-art technology to reduce noise and capture fine image details in both highlight and shadow areas.Recording HD movies with the E-PL2 is simple thanks to an easy-to-reach one-touch record button on the back of the camera body. If you're about to snap a photo and you realize a video would capture the spirit of the scene even better, simply press the record button and instantly you're capturing videos! Easily toggle back and forth between capturing stills and video by using your index finger to press the shutter button or your thumb to press the red record button.     Great solid camera.

    I love the image quality from this oldie but goodie. It feels like a brick, very substantial and is great with the smaller retractable kit lens. Not sure how balanced it would be with a larger lens attached. I was familiar with Olympus settings so could easily change all the functions - might be a bit of a learning curve for others but the 'super screen really helps. All in all a great value for the money. Would buy again.

    Full featured, small size, great pictures. Great value for the money.

    Very easy to use. Intuitive menus. Shoot only in RAW and have had great results. Excellent low-light capabilities. bought this product because I also have other 4/3 cameras, and wanted to be able to switch back and forth with lenses. External flash options are limited, but that is a minor issue.

    E-pl2 GREAT ITEM!

    this camera is great! a little different compared to my e-p1 but i still like it. the flash feature is something that always comes in handy in those really dark areas. the quiet lens makes a HUGE difference in the video quality because you dont hear the focus wheel spinning. overall i think this camera is great for people who can't afford a expensive DSLR camera and dont want the poor quality of a point and shoot camera.

    Wonderful MFT EVIL camera, an excellent update on the EPL1

    I previously owned the EPL1, but decided to buy this one since it supports an external remote control, which I need for astrophotography. Reading the reviews I thought that not much had changed, but on receiving it and using it I discovered that although the updates are small, they are very good! The new kit lens has very soft zoom mechanics, and it looks crispier than the older version. The extra screen space is very welcome, and the control wheel at the back much more useful. One recommendation: Do get the electronic viewfinder. Not only it's of excellent quality, but makes the camera much more useful on broad daylight. For people who have not owned an EVIL camera, get this one. Has the best kick for the money...

    Amazing, especially for a Micro 4/3!

    This is an excellent camera, as is Panasonic's equivelant offering. Video is superb! IQ is amazing, especially when considering it is a Micro 4/3 sensor! Very reminiscent of the old Rangefinders IMHO. I never cared for the 4/3 sensor systems nor the original Micro 4/3 sensor systems, but the latest from Olympus and Panasonic have really turned my opinion around! Until the Pen series I couldn't stand shooting with anything Olympus to be frank! But this camera is nothing but pleasure! Great for weddings, street shooting, PJ type work even, etc. Great carry around camera when a dSLR is just too big and bulky! I am truly impressed by this camera!
