Excellent Book on Iodine, a Vital Substance
This book has been a god-send; quite likely, it has saved my life. It does exactly as the title indicates; for most of this year, I was wondering why I felt so dreadfully tired (even more than usual) -- and suddenly realized that, since I had been using Celtic sea salt for more than a year (healthier than commercial salts, but non-iodized), I was getting very little iodine, which was not doing good things for my thyroid, or indeed my whole body! Dr Brownstein explains quite clearly, so that any layman (or woman) can understand, why we need iodine (and iodide) and how to use Lugol's Iodine as a supplement. I highly recommend this book, as well as Dr Brownstein's other book, Overcoming Thyroid Disorders.This book has been a god-send; quite likely, it has saved my life. Iodine is essential, but few people know how much they need and how to get it. Read this book.
I own 2 copies of this book, one for personal reference and one to loan out. While on a trip visiting some friends, I bought them a copy because they needed more information about the reality of the iodine crisis (worldwide) and because of their thyroid problems. Most people know NOTHING about iodine because the medical system does not provide accurate information about it. Iodine deficiency in a pregnant mother can cause a lower IQ in her baby. Iodine is required for every gland in our bodies, male & female. Yet we are told to use less salt when that is the only (poor) source of iodine in most people's diets. This is a must read and a must own book. It is an easy read and very revealing. I have family members who have read my loaner book and are now using real iodine supplementation ... Excellent Information In This Book!
Dr. Brownstein has written some excellent books, and this is no exception. I bought this book years ago and when I looked for it to check something, I couldn't find it. Ordered this and was very pleased. Everyone should read this book. It could be life-changing to many people. All the information you need about iodine can be found between the covers of this book. It's worth every penny.

Best book ever on the Iodine deficiency problem
This is the most complete & compelling book on the issue of Iodine deficiency and how to correct it. The doc is very complete and attempt to normalize the discussion so everyone can understand it.
