À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Capcom's three-on-three arcade game featuring popular characters from their previous lineup of action, shooting, and fighting titles makes its Xbox debut with the release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2. A total of 56 characters are available to fight as or against, 24 of which are initially playable. Each combatant offers a variety of aerial maneuvers, special attacks, and projectile blasts as players attempt to defeat their opponent's team.

Rather than having all three characters fight on the screen at once, players swap fighters in and out of the match at any time, even for a single attack on an opponent. The remaining two characters rest on the sidelines until called upon to assist. In addition to a health bar, each fighter has a separate meter used for Hyper Combo attacks that can be powered-up to five increasingly destructive levels.

Besides directly switching characters during a fight, players can press one of two assist buttons to have one of their teammates perform a pre-selected attack or defensive maneuver. If an opponent has unleashed an aerial attack, for example, pressing the assist button might have the second or third character enter the screen to perform an anti-air maneuver, thus leaving the primary fighter free from harm.

Notable characters include Mega Man, Dr. Doom, Cyclops, Captain Commando, Cable, Jill Valentine, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Ryu, Strider, Hulk, Captain America, Morrigan, and Tron Bonne. Game modes consist of Arcade, Score Attack, Vs, and Training. Hidden characters, bonus stages, extra costumes, and additional colors can be unlocked using points earned by competing in the various modes of play.

  • Overpriced but not overrated.

Let me just lay it out there right now: I love this game. I loved it in the arcades, I loved it on the Dreamcast and I still love it here, three times around. MvC2 is exactly what it sounds like: characters from the Marvel world and the Capcom world duke it out in over-the-top 2D graphics. With over 50 different characters to choose from (including Cable (from the X-Men universe), Jill Valentine (from Resident Evil), and Tron Bonne (from Mega Man Legends), among others), part of the fun is just coming up with new and different three person teams. Which brings me to the fighting. Players choose teams of three, adjusting settings (such as what type of support attacks your non-active partners do, etc) and then they head out to fight. While the characters are 2D, the backgrounds are in full ...

  • MvC2 - Great Game that deserves to be found and played

Unfortunately kevin82485 does not know what he is talking about because he simply does not own the game, and its basing his opinion on other people's opinion that reviewed it and did not like it as much. And what are reviews other than people’s opinions of things? So that means you don't know what you are missing until you try it yourself. I actually own this game since it came out and love it. An excellent 2D fighting game pitting some of the known, and some obscure Marvel and Capcom characters (56 total) on a 3 vs 3 character match. With so many characters the combination of characters is grand. Awesome, and sometimes comical special moves, and a combo system that is so insane, it can't really be compared to many games out there. The only thing that holds this game back, is that ...

  • Excellent game! Huge character roster!

This game I would recommend to any fan of fighting games. There are a whopping total of 56 different characters, most of which you have to unlock by beating either the arcade mode or score attack by earning points which you can spend at the secret factor. The characters movesets change depending on which character you use. For example, Cyclops use a lot of his moves with laser blasts, and Dhalism uses his long ranged punhces and kicks along with his fire balls. Every character also has three differsnt special moves which are done with certain button combinations. many of the characters specials are very powerful, but at a cost they require one bar as a cost. the bar is at 1 at the beginning of the fight and you can increase the bar by attacking your opponent with any move except your ...

  • To respond to the above review by Kevin

As you may know, you can't ALWAYS go by the rating that IGN and Gamespot give a game. I respect both very much and check both on a daily basis, but sometime you have to experience a game for it. People pay $50+ U.S. for it (*ahem* Kevin) because the game is a CLASSIC. IGN and Gamespot gave them low review basically because there isn't any online play for the game, which was a poor idea not to include. But the basic for this game is, IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT. The gameplay is tried and true and out does SNK vs. Capcom 2 by A LONG SHOT (which I'm a owner of as well). So, bottom line is, reviews are helpful but don't always shine the appropiate light on why a game is sssssooooooo popular. And if you don't believe me, try to find this game ANYWHERE else but EBAY. GOOD LUCK!! You will be ...

  • All the hype for this rare title is worth the money!!!

Probabaly one of the hardest titles to find on Xbox is a great game for Xbox or Xbox 360, even though it will cost $50-75 bucks. The fighting is exact to that of the arcade version. Graphics are great, but I did encounter some glitches when I played it on my Xbox 360 console. The controls are ok, but if you buy the 6 button joystick for xbox, much easier game to play. All of the players are there, and if you like the arcade version, you love this!! Alot of fun, and get it before it sky rockets in price. Great Buy, I rate it a 8 out of 10!!
