    Elvis and more Elvis

    I'm not a huge Elvis fan, but I had taken an Aunt and Uncle to visit Graceland. It was one of those visits that left me wanting to know more about the phenomenom that is called Elvis Presley. This book is in depth, not gossipy, not written to shock or apall. It is very well written. It starts from Elvis' birth to when the army send him to Germany. You will want to read the next book by Peter Guralnick to pick up the rest of the story. You will ride the highs and lows with Elvis when you read this book. A must for Elvis fans. An eye opener for the curious.

    GREAT CONDITION

    I AM STILL READING THIS BOOK OF ELVIS LIFE FROM BEGINNING TO END IN DETAIL CANT PUT IT DOWN GOT IT FOR A FRIEND FOR CHRISTMAS BUT I THOUGHT I WOULD READ IT BEFORE GIVING IT TO THEM ON MY FREE TIME I HOPE THEY ENJOY IT AS I DO.

    Last Train to Memphis by Peter Guralnick (1994,Hardcvr)

    Tells you EVERYTHING you wanted to know about Elvis, and some things you wish you didn't know. I met Elvis in 1956, had a publicity date with him. In 1959 worked as a Stand-in in his movie, "Wild in the Country." He never saw a female he didn't flirt with and put the make on. But he was so pretty and was ELVIS, so I didn't mind at all. This is his life pretty much up to that point. For him his talents were a blessing...and a curse. His father was a blood-sucking leach as were some of his greasy-looking friends. Once he got famous he never had a chance at a peaceful life and by that time he probably didn't want it either, with what the drugs were doing to him. God bless him. Such a mixed up boy...So SAD, too.
