Convenience is the idea behind the Delphi Roady 2 SA10085 XM car and home satellite radio receiver. Designed to give you the ability to stream satellite radio channels while driving in your vehicle, there are several plug-and-play installation options available. Use the cassette adapter to plug into cassette decks. A built-in wireless FM transmitter gives you the ability to connect the radio receiver to your in-dash FM radio. A magnetic roof antenna gives you the option of transmitting the XM stereo frequency directly to the Delphi Roady 2 receiver. Use the lighter power adapter to connect and receive satellite signals to the device in this manner. The options for connecting the Delphi Roady 2 XM audio receiver are plentiful and easy for use in any vehicle. The Delphi Roady 2 XM satellite radio receiver is a versatile device. By purchasing accessories, such as an optional home adapter kit, you gain the ability to enjoy your satellite radio channels while sitting in your home. The Roady 2 has three different-colored faceplates to choose from and seven backlit display color selections available. Aside from streaming music, weather, sports, news, and traffic alerts, the Delphi Roady 2 XM satellite radio receiver also gives you the capability to track up to 20 different stock markets at any given time. This ability is delivered with the use of the Stock Ticker feature. A Tune Select function is featured on the Delphi Roady 2 XM satellite car audio receivers. This feature sends you an alert when a favorite song is playing on another channel than into what you are currently tuned. You have the ability to create a favorite song list by holding down the turning wheel for two seconds while the song is playing through the receiver. Your personalized song list has the memory capacity for storing up to 20 favorite tunes you select. The Delphi Roady 2 XM satellite audio receiver has the ability to hold three banks of preset channels. Each bank has the capacity for storing up to 10 channels. The presets are labeled A, B, and C for easy selections. All settings are accessible through the receiver’s menu. Make and change settings whenever you wish. A built-in headphone jack is found on the compact Delphi Roady 2 car audio receiver. This 3.5 millimeter headphone jack is standard sized and accommodates most headphones, earbuds, and other such listening devices. This feature gives you the ability to enjoy a more personalized listening experience while streaming music, news, weather, and sports through the audio receiver. When connecting the mobile Delphi Roady 2 in your home with the appropriate installation kit, you have the power to listen to audio and video through the device. Roady 2 preference
For a simple Sirius/XM music experience, I think the original Roady models from Delphi couldn't be beat. I like the plug n play portability. You don't need any special cradles or anything. Antennas & power adapters are cheap & easy to find. Right now, I can move my Roady between 3 cars, the garage, living room, and my cubicle at work. I wish Delphi still made the Roady, as they are becoming more and more scarce on EBAY (which is about the only place you can find them now...) On the flip side, however, because of that portability, Delphi should have made the inputs more durable,as they Roady have a tendency to wear out causing connection problems with audio or power. For that reason, on my latest Roady, I connect and disconnect very slowly and carefully to try to make it last longer. I'm on ... The Delphi Roady2 may be the last satellite radio receiver with an FM modulator which will play through an unused FM frequency on your car radio, WITHOUT elaborate hard-wiring or connections to your fender antenna. The FCC no longer allows this level of transmitting power because of alleged interference with other car radios not connected to satellite. As such, you can use this radio easily and take it from car to car. A good accessory for this Roady2 is the Personal Audio kit which allows you to take the Roady2 out of your car, put it in a special portable tray with lithium battery and headphones and jog or bike ride with satellite reception. This Personal Audio is for the Roady2, NOT for the original Roady. Delphi Roady2 Rocks!
Right out of the box this little guy performed like a champ. I especially liked the clear screen with its multiple color options. Sound is clear and crisp through the car stereo system via the built-in FM transmitter. While it doesn't have some of the bells and whistles of other Delphi offerings--like the memory for particular songs (my wife's SkyFi2 beeps when your favorite is coming up next on another channel; but that unit is almost FOUR times the size of the Roady2!)--for the size and price, it gets my vote! Anyone with a small car--or a small budget--will like this unit!Right out of the box this little guy performed like a champ. I especially liked the clear screen with its multiple color options. Great sound, awesome functionality.
The Roady2 is an amazing little unit. The FM modulator is very strong, in fact this receiver was discontinued when the FCC mandated a weaker FM signal so other cars wouldn't get any interference, which is stupid because we all use scrambled stations anyway. The dial on the side makes it easy to navigate by memory when you are driving so you don't have to look at it. The remote makes life very easy when you bring it in the house. In terms of sound quality, I have tested it with a tape cassette adapter and the treble is super crisp. The bass isn't extremely powerful but makes a satisfactory presence in my car. Compared to the first unit I had, the Audiovox Xpress EZ, the Roady2 blows it out of the water for sound quality and reception for some reason (using the exact same antenna in ... The Roady2 is an amazing little unit. Also, the unit automatically recognizes whether or not it should use the aux out port or FM modulation to transmit the audio. Finally, the ability to pick favorite songs, not to mention the choice of backlight colors makes this a great receiver for anyone who is looking for a decent radio but doesn't want to invest.

I have used two of these for several years -- one in-car and one on-house -- and am shopping for a third one for another car. It's an excellent, durable product. It has a very strong modulator -- a key selling point -- meaning it puts out a strong FM signal to your radio. Just one drawback -- something to watch for. The antenna and power connectors on one unit have become a little unreliable, so treat them well.
