Enjoyable in it's genre
Not bad. I watched Paul Bettany in such a film and in Priest. These are films you can get away in. You have to be a lover of the macabre. You might say Paul Bettany's performances lead me to find interest in these types of movies so you may want to check him out. I first saw him in a movie with the well missed Heathe Ledger. I never realized how versatile an actor he was. These movies are deep, mythical, amazing. Enjoyable.Not bad. I watched Paul Bettany in such a film and in Priest. These are films you can get away in. Not the typical Angelic story
Whether you like Gothic movies or not, the appeal of this extremely appealing; visual artistic movie will intrigue you. Gabriel was always intended to be a trilogy but due to limited resources, writers, producers and the director chose to make a smaller, intimate first film that would open up into the broader picture which is the sequels. This film shows the contrast between known tales of the Arch Angels and the Fallen in a "Crow" like cinematography style. The 7 Arcs are Michael, Gabriel, Uriel, Raphael, Ithuriel, Amitiel and Remiel. The spelling of Arc is different to the more common spelling. The reason for this will become apparent over the coming two sequels according to http://www.gabrielmovie.com/answers.php. The 7 Fallen are Sammael, Ahriman, Asmodeus, Lilith, Balan, Moloch and ... Directed by Shane Abbess, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Matt Hylton Todd. Cinematographer Peter Holland did an amazing job, capturing the edgy and sometimes surreal nature of a film set in of all places, Purgatory. With the money constraints, in my opinion; he and the rest of the cast and crew deserve high accolades for their hard work. Look past the nonexistent Special effects and lose yourself in the story and in Gabriel's journey. I was lucky to find this movie, almost pristine in usage; for less than $5.00 including shipping. I would have paid 5 times that. If you like edgy, gothic films: such as the Crow, then do not hesitate to pick this up. Remember, not every good movie has expensive effects. This one didn't need them. Enjoy...

Amazing movie about angels!
Amazing movie about angels! If you like the Prophecy series, Constantine, Legion, then you'll love this one. The director put so much of his heart and soul into this movie. It was a low-budget film with a presentation that matched much more expensive films. The actors are believable and attractive to look at. The action scenes are also quite sweet to watch. I don't understand where all the hate is coming from. The story is also quite original. It talks about Gabriel the archangel coming down to purgatory to rescue his six other comrades who have fallen against the seven demons residing there. Andy Whitfield is awesome here and gives you a sense of the true desperation that an angel would find in such a dark place. If you want to feel/understand how a strong being of light keeps his ... Amazing movie about angels! If you like the Prophecy series, Constantine, Legion, then you'll love this one. The director put so much of his heart and soul into this movie. This Angelic Movie is Spot on , the characters are biblical , the drug use here is accurate, there are moments it takes my breath away , I see myself in this movie , one of my Personal Favorites so far

Not the best but I would watch it again.
This movie was alright. It could've been alot better. It has a great story & characters. You can tell that some of the backgrounds are fake. It would've been great to see some of the angels & fallen angels original forms. The actors were great. I just think with the right people making this movie it could've been a great hit. It could've used better graphics in it.
