Product Information

Avalon Code is a "by the book" role-playing game that lets players write their own stories. At the start of the game, players can choose a male or female lead character. This and other choices, made throughout the adventure, determine the way the story develops and ends. As the tale begins, the player's character dreams of the end of the world, and of a book that can create a new one. The hero awakens the next morning to find a magic book nearby, but its pages blank. Enlightened by a magic spirit, the hero sets forth on an epic adventure to fill in those pages, by exploring the world and cataloging the people, places, and monsters that exist there. Players can make changes to items that have been recorded in the book, such as altering a weapon's strength or switching around a monster's special abilities. <br><br>Finding and subduing monsters, to collect them in the book, is an important part of play. Over-world exploration and combat is action-oriented, while strategic planning and light puzzle-solving move players past storyline obstacles and forward to greater abilities and challenges. The game uses 3D graphics, viewed mostly from an isometric perspective. The art style is heavily animé influenced, with cut-scenes to help move the story along no matter which path the player chooses. Published in North America by Japanese import specialist Xseed, Avalon Code was created in collaboration between Matrix Software, the studio behind the Final Fantasy III and IV remakes for DS, and developers at Marvelous Entertainment who previously worked on games in the Harvest Moon and Rune Factory series.

    A hidden gem among others.

    This Natsume title is pretty underground, not many know about it, but those who have been fortunate enough to play it knows its lovely charms. The gameplay is interesting and creative. It really blends with the type of player you are. I really enjoyed messing around with the monster's encoding to come up with different types of traits. The world building is captivating and the characters are intriguing. I wish the story was a bit longer so I could live with the characters and world a bit more, but overall it's a pretty great game.

    Avalon Code

    Please take your time and vote if possible. Are you into Action RPG's? No waiting turns to attack your enemies!! This joint of Matrix Software and Marvelous, provide you with lots of action in battle, cool puzzles. And an inovating way of Itens/Weapons/Monsters list. You can customize all of it! Seriously, you can even customize your friend's cat! Make your katana become a Bisen Osafune with is 5x stronger, simply by using the customize system. You can also change your enemies elemental type. All of it in your book of prophecy. Anyways. It has good graphs also some Anime Scenes. The soundtrack is preety cool. and the combat system is pretty intuitive. Lot's of quests to do aside from the regular main quest.     I great game for people who like puzzles.

    When I first bought this game I thought it was a simple fighting game. I wanted an to find a good RPG for the DS. Once you start to play, though, it's very addicting! Not only do you get new weapons to fight with, but you can customize them to how you like. Dungeons aren't all about fighting off monsters; alot of it is puzzles. You have to click switches and move items to advance further. One can also find romance in the game by wooing the guy/girl they desire. The graphics are very neat and the music is great. I wish they made more DS games like this. I only wish there would have been a little more interaction between your character and their love interest. Other then that, though, it's a fun game.

    Awesome RPG with a lot of replay value

    This game is an action RPG, with a setting kinda classic for RPGs but with a twist. The world is about to end, but you don&apos;t have to impede it, actually you&apos;re in charge of documenting the world to create a new one, to do that, you have the book of ages, which is very important here. Opossed to many RPGs, this one has a lot of things to do when you finish it. But I won&apos;t spoil you the game. Also about the gameplay, it&apos;s got puzzles and timed challenges so if you want an extra challenge you can aim to have every dungeon with a gold trophy The art and animation of this game is very pretty, I actually bought it because of the pretty art but was surprised by a nice story.
