Every afternoon at 4pm the shadows of Collinwood crept into the living rooms of America...and were filled with vampires, ghosts, werewolves, time travel and wonderful mystery. Today, as DARK SHADOWS nears its 40th anniversary, it continues to have a huge cult following. Now released to DVD with 40 episodes per set, DARK SHADOWS is the most extensive DVD series ever compiled, with over 300,000 box sets sold. Only one set remains to be released, with 24 sets currently available. The incredible popularity of this classic show is a testimony to the vision of its groundbreaking producer, the legendary Dan Curtis. In addition to DARK SHADOWS, Dan ... Only three weeks before, Dan lost his wife of 54 years, Norma, to a heart attack. We focus the Movie Magic USA spotlight on honoring Dan Curtis by reviewing DARK SHADOWS COLLECTION 6. This was DARK SHADOWS at its best. The stories were well-written and interesting and still very fresh. It was always better when the focus was Barnabas, Angelique and Josette. The further the stories strayed from this central theme, the less interesting they became. During the period covered by Collection 6, it was very much at its best. As a ten year old, I could not wait for the next episode of DARK SHADOWS each weekday afternoon. As a 48 year old man, I can't wait to put the disc in my DVD player and return to the shadows of Collinwood. I am currently watching Set 17, episode 877. It is because of a hard-charging television pioneer named Dan Curtis that I still look forward, 39 years later, to returning to Collinwood for my daily dose of vampires, werewolves and fog-shrouded mystery. DARK SHADOWS is a one of a kind classic never to be duplicated, and so is its producer. He took us into the shadows of Collinwood, and we will never forget the wonder that awaited us there. Just keeps getting more intriguing
Been following this series from the beginning and it's way more exciting and suspenseful than all of the junk they put out these days! This was from the days when they still knew what fine acting and great writing were all about! These days, they seem to care more about what designer's clothes the idiots onscreen are wearing than anything else. Dark Shadows is still fun for the evening!
Dark Shadows has been great fun. We remember watching some of the episodes in 1966 and 1967. We are certainly caught up with the story and characters now, and watch 3 episodes each evening. Collection 6 is really romantic. Thrilling!

Great Buy for DVD & Dark Shadow Fans
I grew up with Dark Shadows. I would run home from school so I wouldn't miss one episode of the soap opera. I couldn't believe how they brought it back on DVD to watch it over again and again. Now I watch 3 or 4 episodes a day when I can. These DVD's allow you to watch Dark Shadow episodes at your own time any time you want it. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
