Severed heads, a skeleton, an acid vat, ghostly screams, and a noose that creeps around on its own and strangles unsuspecting victims are just some of the treats in a film that has been spooking delighted audiences on late-night TV for decades. NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: Seven people secluded in a Pennsylvania farmhouse face relentless attacks by reanimated corpses seeking to eat their flesh. The group, which includes a married couple and their daughter, a pair of young lovers, and an African-American man, try to keep their sanity as the living dead try endlessly to enter the house. THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE: A boorish doctor who has devised a way to bring the dead back to life gets into a car accident and kills his beautiful fiancee; he takes her severed head back to the lab with him and keeps it alive in a tray of serum. The effective organ score enhances the film to great effect.DEMENTIA 13: Francis Ford Coppola's directorial debut, produced by horror king Roger Corman, is a terror-filled tale of family ties chopped to pieces. Set in a spooky Irish castle, DEMENTIA 13 begins as the Haloran family gathers to memorialize the death of the youngest sister, Kathleen. While various family members plot and connive, an ax murderer is terrorizing the grounds, and Kathleen's body shows up at just the wrong time. Slowly, the family members become increasingly suspicious of each other--as well as of the ghosts that haunt the castle.     Avoid this box set from Time-Life. Buy the titles separately

    I'm a huge fan of Cassandra Peterson's Elvira character. The campy anecdotes and suggestive inferences just add the right amount to a lot of otherwise forgettable films. Unfortunately the editing in of Elvira's witty break ins on these 6 films is so horribly executed, it destroys the whole experience. Add to that the Elvira segments are too well lit. These are nothing like the single and double movie sets that are available from other labels. (IE: Shout Factory) I've collected Time-Life music for decades. Time-Life has always been a trustworthy brand that I could always rely on delivering a top shelf quality product. Such is not the case with this Time-Life box set. The films are of the expected quality, but again, the digital insertion of Elvira's bits of camp are so poorly done, I ...

    Elvira, B-Movie Hostess

    As a long-time Elvira fan, this multiple disc DVD set presents the viewer "The Mistress of the Dark" in a campy presentation of some old classic B Horror flicks. She's great! Sometimes, you might even look up at her eyes, too!

    I love's me some Elvira!

    If you are a fan of Elvira's or anything in a MST3K type stichk you'll love this box set!What I really enjoyed was the fact that she goofed on some classics like "Night of the living dead"instead of going in for the easy kill on something lame and easy like "Plan 9".Great humor and a great rack(Sorry Elvira-no disrespect but you put em out there!)!Thanks Elvira,worth every penny!
