Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is set about 10 or 15 years in the future, a time when advanced technology augments the squad-based tactics that have become the backbone of modern military operations. As members of a small team of highly trained Ghost operatives, players engage in strike-force styled missions designed for surgical accuracy and efficiency. Even the most foresighted plans are sure to unravel in the chaos of a live firefight, however, so players must also communicate with their teammates, in order to adapt to constantly changing mission conditions. A cooperative multiplayer mode allows up to four human players to work together throughout the game's main campaign, but even computer-controlled teammates are endowed with the tactical training and circumstantial awareness to support a solo player. When they say "ghost," they mean it. Of all the speculative weaponry featured in the game, no device in the Future Soldier's armament is more important than the optical camouflage cloak. It can render a soldier nearly invisible, giving him the ability to disappear into shadows and a chance to advance (carefully) across open ground to more advantageous positioning, even in broad daylight, without being spotted by the enemy. The game also outfits Ghosts with lightweight exoskeletons to enhance their speed and strength in the field. In all, a small arsenal of hyper-tech weapons and defensive devices is available, including some that were inspired by actual design concepts proposed to the U.S. military. The versatile "bullpup" caseless modular rifle, which can be refit on-the-fly for a wide range of deadly purposes, is standard issue. Combat with unmanned drones -- rolling robots, armed to the teeth -- also plays a role, both in the main campaign and in competitive multiplayer modes. Following the lead of earlier Ghost Recon adventures, Future Soldier's battles are not won through boisterous frontal assaults or courageous one-man stands, but more realistically, with good planning and coordinated readjustments in the field. Compared to earlier games, stealth is more prominent than ever, often leading to close combat and ninja-like takedown moves. The story is set in a time of international upheaval, as Russia's legitimately elected president is deposed by a nationalist coup and conflicts erupt near the country's eastern borders. Beyond these Northern European engagements, the campaign eventually leads players to missions in the Middle East, central Asia, and above the arctic circle. As new intelligence is uncovered during the course of a mission, players responsible for making the split-second, life-or-death decisions in the field sometimes must strategically reconsider the larger diplomatic picture, instead of plodding on toward pre-set tactical objectives.

Advanced Warfighting
To be straight to the point, this is a very fun game. This tactical shooter is the natural progression of what we saw in the Ghost Recon series releases from 2006 and 2007. It brings in new element such as adaptive cloaking camouflage and x-ray enabled goggles to see enemies though objects. Solid gameplay mechanics allow for straight up firefights with opposing forces, but where the game truly shines is where the player can clear hostile areas without ever being detected by employing drones, close quarters stealth, and synchronous squad takedown commands. Many areas of the game play out sort of like a puzzle and challenge your stealthy tactics. Graphically, this title holds up very well for what is now a four year old release. Many environments have a very high level of detail. This coupled with a good amount of onscreen action can be very easy on the eyes. For as good as the campaign is, unfortunately, the competitive online is a little on the vacant side. Four years after the release of most games this will be the case. I was only able to find matches in one of the five competitive modes. It was fun for a little while, but many matches seemed a bit to unbalanced to hold my interest. There is also a fun little cooperative mode that can be played on or offline that has you fighting waves of enemies. You'll have to have friends with the same game though, as there is no matchmaking for that mode or the campaign - which has a full co-op mode as well. For the price that you'll find this game here on eBay, the hefty twelve mission campaign alone is worth your time and I thoroughly recommend it.

Great game, worth the purchase! Give it a try!
I have not played the campaign or story mode because I usually never do on games these days. It's very short on campaign but more focused on the multiplayer aspect of it. I can say that the multiplayer on this game was a unique experience, unlike the fast paced, run and gun Call of Duty franchise that has the same releases every year. This one, you'd be glad you tried it out. It stands out to me more than any other game, with the exception of Battlefield 2, but the mechanics of the entire game was brilliant in its design. Its completely based on teamwork, tactical and objective game where it is third person shooter and you have to take extra precautions in taking cover in case you might get shot. Amazing find for $28, brand new. I would recommend it to anyone that enjoyed battlefield, ... I have not played the campaign or story mode because I usually never do on games these days. It has a lot to offer in terms of the level upgrades and what you can unlock, it can feel very rewarding. Your KDR (kill death ratio) does not matter in this game. You should help out your teammates to go after or to defend the objectives, that's the main importance of the multiplayer here. Best game made in 2012 as far as the multiplayer, they really took the time on this one.

This game is a stunning achievement!
This game is a great gift from Ubisoft onto our frail planet. I have been disappointed with potential lost on some of the games in this series, but this one doesn't let up. To begin the story mode is a lot of fun for a shooter with an interesting plot, but the main enjoyment I got out of this game was in the multi-player, now I thought the fact that snipers were invisible was going to be very annoying and they would rank the highest among k/d ratios due to the fact that no one can see them, I was mistaken, snipers are pretty easily spotted when invisible and make themselves a bit of a challenge to find but not to bad. The main reason for the amazing rating that I am giving this game is the aspect of run gun run gun is not apparent. I am so tired of just shooting till my finger aches. This ... You have to plot out your best course of action based on what your teammates are doing and where the enemy players are. This game is a great strategy shooter?
