It's a priceless volume of wisdom for Al-Anon folks!
I have owned Courage to Change for 23 years and wanted to buy another one (or more) to share with friends in AlAnon. The help in this little volume is priceless! Daily practical help and inspiration for living a positive life while learning about the disease of alcoholism in a friend or relative.

Amazing Inspiration
I purchased Courage to Change a couple of weeks ago and have had time to read from it. Whatever I'm feeling or confused about at any given time it seems to have entries to address my needs. For example One day I was shutting cabinet doors VERY FIRMLY because my AA spouse had not bothered to empty the dishwasher so when I came home I got to make dinner, empty the dishwasher, load it and then do the dirty pans, so needless to say I was feeling used and unappreciated (besides he had told me he would empty it). A friend suggested I read under Expectations - BOOM! it nailed the head of the nail and I was able to move on with a much better attitude and not feel so put out with my spouse. I read from it everyday on the daily inspiration an as well lookiing in the back for suggested ... I purchased Courage to Change a couple of weeks ago and have had time to read from it. A must-have for those who love or loved an addicted person, whether it be alcohol, drugs, sex, or etc'!
When it comes to dealing with addiction, they need a twelve step program to aid them in achieving & maintaining sobriety, because they are a form of sick. Well, sick people make people sick, so, those who love them become a form of sick as well. We need our own 12 step program & daily readings to get healthy & stay healthy so that we don't become their best enablers. Health is life, including your mental health.When it comes to dealing with addiction, they need a twelve step program to aid them in achieving & maintaining sobriety, because they are a form of sick. Courage to change
Helped me through an extremely difficult time in my life. Was the one thing that got me through some of the roughest emotional times. Taught me more about how to handle situations in even normal everyday life. I can only control me and my actions. That was over 10 yrs ago. I still have my book and read it. This was for a friend. I hope it helps also.

A wonderful daily reader
This book is a wonderful source of inspiration, hope, and topics to consider for anyone. The book is directed towards people in Al-Anon, but I've found the topics to extend into all aspects of my life; not just my relationship with the alocholic in my life. I have this one, as well as the older verion, One Day at a Time in Al-Anon, the blue one, and find that often times if a particular reading from one doesn't strike a chord with me, the other surely will. Most days, though, I can learn from both. I'd highly recommend this book to anyone considering Al-Anon and even people who are not in that situation.This book is a wonderful source of inspiration, hope, and topics to consider for anyone.
