Product Information

A science-fiction-themed sitcom, 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN looked at the absurdity of human behavior and society from the perspective of a literal outsider. Four alien beings have been transported to Earth in order to more closely study mankind. Landing in the town of Rutherford, Ohio, each member of the quartet takes on a human appearance, forming the "Solomon" family: leader Dick (John Lithgow), sophomoric Harry (French Stewart), man-trapped-in-a-woman's-body Sally (Kristen Johnston), and eldest member (in the form of a teenage boy) Tommy (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). As they set out to examine the habits of the humans around them, the team experiences the human emotions of love and loss, and encounters many comic misunderstandings from their too-literal readings of human words and actions. Using clever writing and acting rather than gaudy special effects to convey "alien-ness," 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN was one of television's most creative comedy series.

    I Just Love Dick! (SOLOMON, that is!)

    You know, this has got to be one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. I was recently talking about old shows I used to love watching and this was one of them. I checked out ebay to see if somebody had it and, to my delight, they did! I just LOVE the interaction between Dick, Harry & Sally, not to mention, Mary, Nina & Mrs. Dubcek! It's a laugh-out-loud fest! wHAT AN AMAZING SHOW!!! I'm buying the other seasons! NO DOUBT!

    Funny

    It'd a pretty good show. The only thing I Dont like about it is the constant sex references and jokes. I did laugh quite a few times, just not at those jokes.

    Laugh Till Tears Run Down Your Cheeks--3d Rock From Sun

    The pure humor is so adhesive you will smile for days. The cast of this series works together so well that you will really believe that they are a skilled space ship crew hiding in our society, and wondering what they have gotten themselves into. But copeing very well with their "difficult mission". This is a really well presented package for the season, a special case and four quality DVD's.

    Great description of planet earth

    I very much enjoyed the television show but missed many episodes. I pleased to see that it was available for purchase. I've only a few of the episodes since I got it,but I'm looking forward to viewing it and sharing it for many years to come. This series is a work of art. It is particularly creative, well scripted, well acted and eminently enjoyable. The episodes are so good that they can be watched and enjoyed many times.

    Best american comedy show ever

    Comedy about 4 extraterrestrial scientists that pose as a family that comes too earth too explore and learn about the human race. Humor in the show is derived from the aliens' attempts to study human ppl and due to their living as humans themselves whilst on Earth and how they react when they do something new. Almost all the episodes revolve around the Family difficulty blending themselves into Earth culture and understanding human customs. weary funny show a must see tv show.
