EA DICE's flagship military combat series continues with Battlefield 3, a first-person shooter with destructible environments, large-scale maps, controllable vehicles, and online support for up to 64 simultaneous players. The single-player campaign, which the publisher estimates to be 12 hours in length, features multiple playable characters in a structure similar to Activision's Call of Duty franchise.<br><br>In a storyline set in 2014, you'll play as a Russian agent sent to stop a terrorist attack in Paris, a Marine corporal in the Tehran desert, and as others in missions set in Sarajevo, New York, Wake Island, Oman, and Sulaymaniyah. The Frostbite physics engine introduced in the Battlefield: Bad Company spin-off series has been enhanced, now allowing for the complete destruction of buildings and scenery objects as well as vision blurring or blinding effects. Soldiers can also shoot from the prone position.<br><br>The multiplayer game features a choice of team-based options. Conquest has your side trying to claim and hold different areas of the battlefield, while rush involves one team trying to quickly advance across a map as the other team defends. Team deathmatch is also included, and there are four available classes in the game: assault, support, recon, and engineer. In addition to larger maps and support for 40 more simultaneous players than the console versions, Battlefield 3 on PC is designed to run at twice the frame rate (60 frames per second versus 30).<br><br>This "Premium Edition" includes the full original game and the "Back to Karkand," "Close Quarters," "Armored Kill," "End Game" and "Aftermath" DLC packs, altogether offering 20 new maps, 20 new weapons, and four new modes.

    Never got to play because Origin and EA have their fingers in their orafice

    This game requires a FAST internet connection. NOT the basic internet connection. Dial up FORGET IT!. You will first spend a couple of hours loading the game. Then you will be prompted to "update the game" About 8+ GB of data. After you do all of that, you might end up like me. Who by the way, is capable of writing HTML, Creating Flash Video, Editing video with Adobe CS6. I have built my own computer without anyone holding my hand. I digress. I ended up spending hours upon hours trying to get a hold of a chat rep in India somewhere. Where I had some one try and re-install my game. Really? So I have been escalated in the meantime. I had to follow up as I did not get any follow up after waiting 16 days! I waited on Chat for another hour to get yet another Level 1 tech who was so eager to ...

    Fun, Action Packed, Challenging Battlefield experience with minor glitches.

    Fun, action packed and challenging. However several minor glitches after dying which require a restart of the current missions in order to proceed make the game aggravating to say the least. The character you're supposed to follow gets stuck and just sits there waiting on something to happen which never does. Some of the cut scenes freeze the game and even after a restart the only way to continue is to skip the cut scene. Not the computers fault, dell xps 15, i7, win7 pro 64, 16gb ram, 512 ssd, nvidia 630m. Runs other top shelf games without issues (COD Black Ops 2, Mass Effect Trilogy, etc.) I do find it aggravating for the game to have to launch Origin first (wait to sync to the cloud), then IE second (wait for the battlefield 3 site to open), then select what you want to play, ...

    Good game, with intermittent issues caused by OriginBattlelog.

    The game was just as described, includes all the expansion and all. Though i am pretty disappointed with the quality of OriginBattlelog. I have had a good amount of issues with it, i am displeased with EA for using this software to run the game. I hate the idea of using and internet browser to run a game. Plus i have had intermittent crashing while trying to play Multiplayer. If you want to play BF3 i would definitely recommend using another platform. At the same time the graphics look amazing and the campaign is very enjoyable, no crashing whatsoever.

    if buying used it will NOT work !! " will not activate a used code "

    if you buy this game used, it will NOT work, bought mine from EBAY and HAD to sign up to " ORiGiN " ..user name password email address etc, then said " this code has already been used" !! DO NOT BUY IT USED ..and if you do it will NOT Reload if you upgrade your computer and reinstall ...I WILL NEVER waste my money on this product AGAIN !
