Product Information

Gamers are invited to get some air and slalom down a mountainside in SSX Blur. Designed as a "best of" version of previous SSX titles, the game offers a variety of single-player experiences along with two choices for multiplayer competition. Returning to the series are several gameplay modes including "Quickplay" and "Tournament." "Quickplay" allows gamers to sample several half-pipe, slaloming, and racing competitions while "Tournament" requires players to take on many competitors as they attempt to reach the peak of the mountain. <br><br>The 12 courses in the game feature updated versions of classic levels along with a selection of stages created specifically for the Wii. Gamers may select from a cast of ten returning characters or choose one of two new avatars and then attempt to make it down the slope using the Nunchuk and Wii-Remote to pull off impossible tricks and combos. During a run, players can collect pickups that unlock a special "Uber Trick." To land an Uber Trick, gamers must fill their Groove Meter by completing a successful round of tricks. As the meter fills, the in-game background music adjusts to antagonize the intensity. With friends, gamers may compete in two-person split-screen or four-person alternating action.

    Frustrating new controls alter game play

    SSX&apos;s highly anticipated 4th game sold exclusively for Wii, entitled &apos;SSX Blur&apos; has a lot of good intentions. There are creative new tournaments, many different ways to attempt courses, and a great layout. Though all of these things add to SSX&apos;s playability, it takes a few steps back by eliminating what made the game such fun to play- complex tricks that were easy to do. SSX Blur uses the same format at the third edition of the game, three different peaks with several courses on each. Again on each course you have several options, like a competing in a race or a half pipe tournament. The navigation for these courses is very easy. The main problem with the game is the controls. To get complete use of the Wii controller the game developers made every action ...

    Let's Tear up the Mountian

    First, let me start by saying that I love these types of games...Cool Boarders 2 hooked me and ever since then I can&apos;t get enough. With that being said it is no surprise that I like this game. The graphics are fantastic and the new controls make it unlike anything else out there. A lot of playability along with great story. The controls for the Wii take a little while to get used to and the speed of this game doesn&apos;t make that any easier...although it does have a great training area that lets you practice almost every aspect of the game. This game is not easy...but it&apos;s not impossible either. This is a must have for the Wii. BUY IT!!! There is not enough time for you to truly enjoy this game with just a rental...Trust me this game is deep. It has 3 mountains and an ...

    The best or the worst?

    I loved it. The new Wii controls bring SSX to a completely different level. I&apos;ve noticed that a lot of people tend to complain about the controls, but I&apos;ve found that they&apos;re easy to manipulate if you just bother to spend some time getting used to it. The only thing I disliked about the game was the cartoon-esque quality. Everyone in SSX3 was more in 3D, while in SSX Blur, they&apos;re more cartoons. While you&apos;re racing, etc., you&apos;re in 3D, but not while you&apos;re looking at profiles. As in all SSX games, there are new characters to use, which is pretty standard. Some old characters made it to the next game, others didn&apos;t. I&apos;d give it 5 out of 5 stars. Good game. I&apos;d highly recommend it to any SSX fan.

    Great game for the Wii

    Nice looking graphics....amazing sense of speed. The wii controls are pretty intuitive once you learn them. The courses and events here are fun and challenging. My only complaint is the ubertricks....they are rediculously hard to do. I&apos;ve mastered one, and gotten a couple of the others to work sporadically. Anyways.....great game. Having a great time with it.

    SSX Blur Nice Game For The Wii!

    I am a snowboarding game fan and I did enjoy this game a little. One of the negative drawbacks is the navigation and doing tricks is more difficult than regular controller games. I found myself pressing the wrong buttons at the wrong times. The graphics and characters are fun. I guess if you spend more time on the controllers this would be a great game. Overall not highly recommended, but good game!
