Avis les plus pertinents

  • Receiver easily meets my needs.

Reviews of receivers are largely subjective. I happen to prefer the clean crisp sound of this Yamaha receiver. My speaker setup consists of 4 pair of the original Large Advents. I use two of the Yamaha RX-A700 receivers so that each of the speakers has a separate channel of amplification (in bi-amp mode). These receivers easily meet my listening requirements. I do not need wall-shaking volume so there is plenty of very clean power for my listening taste, I find that having a separate 7" monitor on each receiver makes it much easier to adjust the receivers' parameters when necessary. I gave a 4 star rating because this receiver does not travel well. Two previous A700s I bought were damaged in shipment. Even this receiver had a small circuit board which contains the on/off switch break off ...

  • Yamaha makes very good consumer grade stereo systems - like this one.

The item was B-stock. As far as I can tell, save for a sticker on the outside of the box there was no difference. Everything looked brand new. As for performance. Amazing flexible receiver. I have older speakers (Old ARs) and it sounded amazing. My listening area equalizes pretty flat so I didn't give the auto calibration a workout. Basically the system sounds amazing and was very easy to setup. I think maybe an hour including the time to remove the old Pioneer. The only negative is the system really needs a power subwoofer. No problem, I have an extra amp but that means another slot in the TV rack. Note, this Amp has pre-outs so its a great match for an older Carver 5-channel Amp. I considered the A800 instead but I have never had a need for dual zones. Price difference ...

  • Yamaha has the AVENTAGE over Denon, Sony, and Pioneer! Intellibeauty!

Halleluiah! A receiver line with brains and beauty! I purchased this unit on EBay 6 weeks ago and I still haven't optimized the entire 7.2 channel experience, but I'm not complaining. I saved $250, but knowing it's capability now, I'd have paid near SRP. Features I love most: OSD makes every setting and choice "eezy peezy, weezy! 7.2 discrete out amps with biamp-ability. 5 Hdmi In, 1 out, zillions of RCA composite in/out, and component in/out. Coax digital ins, but only 2 toslink digital in, boo hoo! I bought a low loss 3-way switch. But wait! This unit is apped and internet ready, connect via ethernet to your network and pull in you library direct...movies, music, pictures etc. I have a ZuneHD Docked on it, CD jukebox, DirecTV HD rcvr,Samsung bd6500 ...

  • Excellent Quality for Entry Level of Yamaha Aventage line of AV Receivers

I got a 3D LED TV and 3D Blue Ray player so needed to update my AV receiver to the correct HDMI level (3D requires 1.4a or above). Technically this is last year's model and was B-Stock (look it up on Yamaha's site, but basically refurbished or otherwise returned and resold). The receiver I got is perfect from a cosmetic perspective and was very easy to set up (a bit easier than my Onkyo which is now relocated to my secondary Home Theatre, i.e. Master Bedroom). While the Onkyo is THX certified and this level Yamaha is not, I have been very impressed with it's audio capabilities. I would gladly recommend this model (the entry level in Yamaha's Aventage line) as being very capable of meeting most anyone's home theatre needs. I'm very happy with my purchase.

  • Nice receiver but one technical glitch with universal remote from cable co.

Very nice receiver. Mine was B-Stock but appears as new. The only problem is that my universal remote supplied by Time-Warner Cable cannot control the receiver. Therefore I need to change back and forth to control the volume and when it turns it on it also then turns it off - a real pain. Neither Yamaha nor Time-Warner, not the Universal Remote Company have been any help. Replaced a Pioneer Elite Receiver and the sound seems as good or better. Nice setup with the automated system with the microphone.
