'Cause when you take that bus... You get there.
I bought this DVD as a gift to a fanatical FOBH friend of mine to replace the old VHS that he has had attached to him for the past 12 years. We encountered this movie in the late nineties as teenagers and it became an instant hit with us. The movie basically takes the "mockumentary" theme of This is Spinal Tap and applies it to the hip/hop and mostly rap culture. One of the reasons I enjoy FOBH more than Spinal Tap is that FOBH tends to direct its jabs at actual rap culture events and icons rather than the general jabs at the music industry that Spinal Tap took. For example the rap group that is the subject of the film is NWH (Niggaz With Hats) a play on NWA. The members consist of Ice-Cold, a play on Ice-Cube/Ice-T who at one point in the movie plays a Freedom Williams type character ... Forgive me if I misspelled any of the rap icons, as I am more accustomed to the rock culture than hip/hop which makes it even more strange that I enjoy this movie over Spinal Tap. One other movie comes to mind while reviewing FOBH, which is CB4. It is my understanding that FOBH was not considered a success financially and could be due to the similar films being released within the same time frame. I have viewed CB4 and that movie is a scripted parody type movie, whereas FOBH takes a different approach, while not original, at least the end result is much funnier and by far more enjoyable to watch. The over the top jabs at the rap culture are what truly make this film shine. Great hilarious video parodies, songs include: "P.U.S.S. Why?", "My Peanuts", "F*$K the Security Guards", "I'm Just a Human", "Granny Said Kick Yo Black Ass", "A Gangsta's Life ain't Fun", "Booty Juice", the favorite Christmas track: "Santa Claus is Cumming" (and not necessarily to town!) plus many more, of course with Tasty taking over the love song with the following lyrics: "I want to make you mine, slap your fat behind, tie you down and make you whine, I want you to scratch my itch and be my bitch, 'cause I love you girl!" Fun stuff, many more rap culture references and over the top hilarity to enjoy. 10 out of 10 stars!

Can you say cheesy?
This movie is not what I remembered when I saw it in the 90s. It's not very funny and it will insult your intelligence at times. Honestly it's hard to watch.
