NCAA Football 07 continues its PlayStation 2 run with enhancements to each phase of the college game. The popular momentum meter found in previous installments returns with added emphasis, as each play from scrimmage has the potential to increase or decrease a team's all-important impetus to win the game. Fans of the Superstar mode in Madden NFL 06 will be able to embark on a similar path with the game's new Campus Legend feature. Players must manage their star athlete's hectic schedule by committing time and energy to scholastic pursuits, practice, and parties.<br><br>The on-field action has also undergone tweaks on both sides of the ball. Defensive-minded players can call hot routes to stop offensive drives, while hotshot quarterbacks can pinpoint their throws with the precision passing system. The kicking game features a new interface supporting analog control, allowing players to place the right amount of touch or finesse on their field goal attempts. Over 100 new formations have been added to the playbooks to incorporate a variety of team-specific schemes and trick plays. Additional features include 11 training-oriented mini-games, annual spring games for scouting underclassmen, and full ESPN integration.

It's NCAA 06 with a FEW Improvements!!!!!
Has a ton of new options and has definately improved the dynasty mode. Game does now have the option of doing school work while playing college football, and can use improvements in your school work to improve your gameplay....which is awesome. Pretty much you have a choice during the weekdays after class, you can either run drills and get rating points, or you can study with your tudor for your midterm/final exam. You really do take the tests too, and if you fail them, then your GPA drops and you have a chance of losing your scholarship. Another great thing is that if you like running your defense they now have it so that you can get a good jump on the ball and topple the offensive line. You just press the "X" key when you think the ball will be snapped and if you get a good jump ... Has a ton of new options and has definately improved the dynasty mode. (all the commentaries are exactly the same too) All in all...this game is worth at the most about 29.99, don't go any higher....rent it and see if you think the same. The reason this game gets a 3/5 is because the potential for this game has yet to be realized. I broke the game down into categories for rating it- On and off the field. All of the off-the-field features of the game are exactly the way any fan of the series could ask for. Dynasty mode goes deeper with more recruiting and a spring game where you can evaluate players. The sim engine is not as bad as last years game where an average day meant 25-30 passing with 325 Yards and 5TDs or 18 carries for 225 Yards. You will actually see some players struggle (though, still not as often as in real life) with 12-25 passing days and only 112 yards with a pair of picks. Rating 4.5/5 The problem with this game is gameplay. AI for the CPU has increased a small margin over the past two years, but there ... Deep passes are very easy to complete in one on one coverage vs. the CPU. Even when controlling the DB, it is still difficult to prevent the deep ball, making Cover Twos and naked blitzes hard to run properly. Bump-n'Run is blown way out of proportion and stands WRs up at the line, keeping them from running their proper route. Online, you will see most people in Bump-N'Run 90% of the time on a regular play. Field goal kicking has become more challenging- to some, by the new right analog kicking feature. But the major weakness of this style means that straight FGs are automatic. And not every kicker can kick 55yards. Players with fast QBs are a staple of online play if you want to win. Rollouts and sprint outs guarantee open receivers on crossing routes over the middle- regardless of coverage. QBs that get outside the pocket usually have the option of throwing a 40yd pass, running for 20+yards, or hitting a WR over the middle for who knows how much. And as I said, the AI did get a little better over the last two years, but that doesn't mean that it's anywhere near where it should be. Rating- 2.5/5 If you like College Football, this is a GREAT game to play just for the spirit and enjoyment of the sport. But if you play football games for the challenge and are really particular of playing a "straight", realistic game, "like one seen on television," I'd recomend giving Madden 07 a shot. To some, It might be pro ball, but other you'd be hard pressed to find any major weaknesses in the series (aside the dropped INTs) and have a much better time if you are playing for the strategical part of the game "as seen on T.V.

Game play is ok. About the same as 06. Some new features are good ideas (ie: first person view for kick block and return) but need some fine tuning. They keep changing default controller setup from year to year. Graphics are great, but could also use some new creative changes. Dialogue is about the same from 04-07 a few new changes. Overall it still gets a 4 out of 5 but the hype didn't live up to the game. If you have EA NCAA 06 just keep it and save the money.Game play is ok. About the same as 06. getting better every year
I've been an ncaa football player for many years, and it's getting better every year. There's numerous improvements. Kicking is now done with the right joy stick, you pull it back and when the power reaches its max, push forward, but you have to do it straight or it will shank it. It's more realistic and more of a challenge than the past. There's more improvements with the defense too, you can pretty much have your team doing whatever you want now. The new D-line feature is great, if you time it just right with X, you'll have a "Great Jump" but if you go too early, you'll fall offsides, it's just way more realistic and now you can be effective while controlling a d-lineman where as in the past it was nearly impossible.
