The runaway computer hit RollerCoaster Tycoon streaks onto Xbox as part of a compilation featuring add-on packs Corkscrew Follies and Loopy Landscapes. For those unfamiliar with the 1999 game and its two expansion titles, the object is to build and then manage a theme park filled with over 50 rides. Players will be in charge of every detail, such as planting trees to heighten the park's aesthetic appeal, hiring staff to make sure everything operates smoothly, setting ticket prices, and deciding on the location of food stands or toilets to generate extra income or to keep people from having "accidents" during intense rides. <br><br>In addition to roller coasters, players can purchase merry-go-rounds, log flumes, Ferris wheels, bumper cars, and more, each varying in cost, size, and level of excitement. Good game, Bad Controls.
I bought this game for my XBOX, because I really like the game. I played the pc version for quite some time, and really like the game. The scenarios are creative, and some are challenging. You never know what the terrain is going to be like, or if you can, or can't remove trees. Also, the new magnifying glass zoom feature helps with construction when you can't read ride names, or height marks. However, I wish the game had a sandbox mode like RCT3 does, and the annoying red, "Can't do this" errors are very annoying. The controls take some getting used to. Since there is no auto pan, like there is in the PC version, you have to move the right analog stick to pan. Also it is hard to raise and lower land due to the slippery Left Analog Stick. If ever I could run an amusement park...
Roller Coaster Tycoon, in all of its incarnations, is one of my favorite games to play. Having it for the XBox makes it great because I can play on a much larger screen in my relaxing chair! While reading the manual is helpful, it is just a matter of a little time and patience to get the hang of the control layout. Once this is accomplished, there really isn't much limit on what you can do with the game scenarios. A fair warning though... This game can be highly addictive, causing a loss of a sense of how long one has been playing! Easily, this is a game well suited for bad weather entertainment, as it will keep you occupied for quite the while!Roller Coaster Tycoon, in all of its incarnations, is one of my favorite games to play. Be prepared to let time fly by!! This is one of those all consuming, totally encompassing (what's that... OH YEAH, I forgot I own a dog!!) type games. Turn this on and be whisked away to your first park! This park is full of open land with a gate and a dirt path... So we'll add a merry-go-round... and a soda shop... then a bathroom (of course)... oh, how about a clown... let's do some ride research and make a coaster... OOPS, I'm out of money... let's increase the ticket price at the front gate and fire the clown... Ah yes, that did it, NOW LET"S BUILD THIS COASTER AND REALLY WATCH THE MONEY FLOW IN!!!! Next thing you know it's 4 in the morning and you're tearing things down just to squeeze in one more ride! Tons of base parks, deadlined goals to achieve and countless rides, ... So call your loved ones, do your home work or give the dog a double serving of food then slip into creative bliss and let the good times Roll...erCoaster Tycoon!

Do more research before buying. Good life lesson when buying products.
I used to play this game as a kid and loved how i could manage my own little park. I don't know if anyone else had love to feel that power but it was fun as hell. well i wanted to start playing the game again but unfortunately couldn't because of the xbox 360 not being compatiabile with "this" xbox game.
