Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is a classically styled kart racing game, with zippy vehicles, fantasy-themed courses, and over-the-top power-ups. Players choose to race as a favorite Sega game character, from a roster of 20 that includes Sonic, Tails, and Dr. Eggman, as well as Ai Ai and his monkey-balled companions, and the maracas-shaking Amigo from the Dreamcast's hit rhythm game. In classic kart-racing form, each character drives a vehicle with different attributes -- such as acceleration, handling, and top-speed -- allowing players to choose a ride that complements their driving style or to pick a character best suited for the challenges of a particular course. <br><br>The game features two dozen different tracks, set in medieval castles, lush rain forests, and busy city streets, all stocked with hazards to avoid, bonuses to collect, and shortcuts to discover. Up to four players can compete in a split-screen mode, and as many as eight can race together through an online connection.

Super Sonic Racing!
Think of it as Mario Kart without the incredibly annoying items. If you like Sega at all, get this. Even if you don't care for Sonic, it's not exactly a Sonic game. It's actually a part of a Sega crossover series called Sega Superstars, they just changed the name so the game would sell a little better. Though to be honest, the sequel is better, so if you had to choose between the two, go for Transformed. In my opinion the Xbox 360 version is the best version purely for Banjo and Kazooie.Think of it as Mario Kart without the incredibly annoying items. If you like Sega at all, get this. Sonic & Sega All-Star's racing is a great kart racing game. In my opinion, any fan of Mario Kart or Diddy Kong Racing will like this game. The game has 24 tracks, 20 something characters, 64 "missions", 6 grand prix events, and time-trial mode with a leaderboard for every track. The tracks are fun and unique. The one they give you in the demo is somewhat boring in comparison with some of the other tracks. The 64 "missions" can be anything from winning a race, hitting targets, collecting coins along a track, drifting to earn points, avoiding a bunch of obstacles on a track (that aren't normally there), etc. The 6 grand prix events are similar to what you would see in Mario Kart. There is 4 races in each prix and the overall winner at the end gets the cup. There are 6 of these and you ... Sonic & Sega All-Star's racing is a great kart racing game. Great family oriented game: from the colors/ graphics, character designs, & course layouts it's easy to tell this game is geared towards a general audience & not hardcore gamers. The challenge is set low so younger kids will get a challenge while still being able to succeed with practice & a little luck. Mature gamers (adults) may find this game easy to play & pick-up, but it's also a great way to earn some gamerpoints for your gamerscore on XBox. Nothing in this game goes beyond the movie "PG" rating so parents shouldn't be afraid to pick this game up for their kids. Great Multiplayer Game!
I was looking to see if there was a MarioKart for the Xbox 360 but, it seems that they did not make it for this gaming system. I read a few reviews on what games would be comparable to MarioKart for the 360 and Sonic & Sega All-Stars came highly recommended. We are very happy with this purchase.

Reminds me of Mario-Cart
This is a great game. It reminds me a lot of Mario-cart, back in the SNES days, only this time with Sega characters. It's similar in that you have a variety of stars from different games, battling each other while racing. Along the race you pick up "weapons" and use them to slow down the other racers. You win cash for races won, and can use it to unlock new race tracks, characters, and music. Loads of fun, I highly recommend it.This is a great game.
