You can even play when the battery is being recharged. The 3DS XL is compatible with the video games from the previous version of this device. It can play any Nintendo DS title as well. It also uses the same button layout as the older Nintendo systems, but this console uses a button style that can offer more responsive inputs. If you want to game without disturbing those around you, the device also includes a headphone jack. This headphone jack supports mono, stereo, and surround sound headphone accessories.     Great Portable Game Console, Ideal Upgrade Over Previous NDS

    This new 3DS is really the ideal game Nintendo portable game console. It has plenty of screen space and fairly good graphics. It's not too heavy and is quite appealing to the eye. In my opinion it easily beats the normal 3DS just by virtue of larger screens. I love the operating system and the idea of built-in games (and soon enough, downloadable content). It is also relatively cheap (i.e. can be obtained for roughly $120-150, if one searches well). Lastly, it is probably the best portable game console on the market now (since there's not windows portable gaming device and PS Vita is not even slightly worth the money). Looking for a solid portable gaming system? Here it is...

    A great gift!

    The color was a hit. If I had bought this item, however, before Christmas, I could have found it for considerably less money, but it was worth the money to see it delivered on time and the smiles it brought!

    Pretty good. Not unhappy that I bought it.

    My son loves his 3DS XL. I think it's a great gaming system, personally. the XL screen is much better than the tiny screen of the regular DS. However, I have two complaints with the 3DS XL: 1) I don't like that the 3DS doesn't shut off automatically like the regular DS. You have to turn it off otherwise it will stay on and the battery will run down. 2) I don't like that the old games won't play in this new system. I wouldn't even think of it if the new system didn't have a switch that goes from 3D to non-3D. My son loves playing PvZ but he can't on his new DS. So now we have two DSes that he has to switch back and forth from wnen he wants to play different games. I know, I know, first world problems. But, hey, you asked my opinion so there ...

    Please with my purchase....

    The reason I gave this Nintendo 3DS 3 stars is because the charging cord that was sent with the system did not work, and didn't charge the system. I had to use a older charging cord I had from an older DS to see if it would work and it did. However with that said this DS seems to hold a charge pretty well. It plays games just fine. I don't need a ton of memory space so the memory space is adequate. For a used system it was in great condition. I don't know if Nintendo still makes the Nintendo 3DS systems. I know they stopped making Nintendo DS games, due to the success of the Switch. However the the Nintendo 3DS still has great games also, and is a fun hand held to play.

    Great system that's really only missing that second circle pad.

    I didn't own the original 3DS because I wasn't impressed with the design and the battery life was poor. However, the 3DS XL really improves on the original. First off, the top screen is huge! The 3D functionality works quite well, and the battery life is better on this model, from what I've read. In my experiences, the battery life is pretty good, but the 3D effect does drain the battery (generally I keep it off while playing,depending on the game). The graphics are really nice, I'd say playstation 2 quality, if not better. Unfortunately it's not HD, but the games do look good! Two gripes. First, while the D-pad's responsive, it's small and in an awkward spot, so using it for extended periods can get uncomfortable (this may only be a problem on the XL ...
