Not like my old one
The piller looked like my very old one but the tip is not the same. The cuts on both sides of the tip which allows the pill to be inserted in the piller tip are too deep. The hole for the pill is much larger than the piller I had. Both these issues would not let a small pill be grasped and thus it would fall out. Luckily the chemo pill I have to give my cat 3 days a week stays in. This piller is a generic one. I will explore the actual Vet One brand. I wish all the online stores would focus the camera on the tip so the consumer can really see how deep the slits and hole for the pill are on the tip. I still like this particular type of piller, I'm glad I have it. The tip on my old piller simply rotted out after 30 yrs. They don't make em like they used to and my vets doesn't even sell them ... Prosumer pet piller
Former vet tech here, if you’re looking for the same aqua blue tip pet piller you got from your vet’s office then this is the closest iteration you’re likely to find. The true vet-grade one seems all but unavailable to consumers, and is likely only accessible in bulk through vet supply companies. Functionally though, this is very similar. Little stiffer on the push/click mechanism, tip is a bit thicker with a slight slant to the cut, plastic may wear a bit faster, but for someone whose not pilling pets professionally on a massive scale, this one has the same size, balance and feel. The middle plunger stick lands just right at the tip and poses no risk of jabbing your pets mouth, silicone tip isn’t unnecessarily firm yet all comes together in such a way that the pill stays in place and ... Nice Pet Piller For The Money
Easiest way to pill a cat. No more wrestling with kitty or trying to drop pill in center of throat while kitty is thrashing around. A tech at my vet's office gave me the first one after she did one of my kittys and I bought this as a backup piller to keep as a spare. The soft tip is close to the original one I have but made out of a different rubber/vinyl/latex or whatever its construction. I had to open up the tip a little as larger capsule type pills were difficult to set into it but it was a few seconds work with a razor blade. Works fine and for the money, is worth it. My special needs kitty knows the morning routine: A Temptations treat first, then a pill, another treat, second pill and then a third treat. Sits right down and waits for them. Less than 30 seconds total time. Repeat ... Easiest way to pill a cat. No more wrestling with kitty or trying to drop pill in center of throat while kitty is thrashing around. This piller makes it much easier on my fingers when giving my cat a pill. It is super easy to use, washes well and dries quickly.
