This open-world beat 'em up for the PlayStation 3 lets you craft weapons, meet with fellow survivors, and deal with all the threats of the zombie apocalypse.Published by Capcom and developed by Blue Castle Games, this sequel to "Dead Rising" had a release date of 2010. It is a sequel to the first release, also from Capcom, and had creative input from the original game's team. In this release, you play as Chuck Greene, a former motocross champion with a flair for handyman craftsmanship. He takes on the walking zombies who plague the streets of Fortune City, based on real life Las Vegas, to keep himself and his daughter safe.Up to 7,000 zombies are on the open streets in the game at any one time. You don't have to deal with each one individually, but you can easily mow them down, plow through them, or punch your way to victory. Much like the first game, "Dead Rising" lets you use almost anything in the environment as a weapon to keep yourself safe. You can also custom manufacture your own gear by collecting items around the city. Dynamite, hand grenades, and dual-wielding chainsaws are among the specialized arsenal Chuck can create. You gain prestige points as they make the zombies truly dead while becoming more powerful in the process, ultimately getting access to better weapons. Prestige points let you level up, get stronger, and learn new combos to help survive against the zombie horde. The hungry zombies aren't your only problem in "Dead Rising," however. Survivors gone rogue and violent lay in wait to sabotage Chuck's efforts. These bosses, called "psychopaths", have their own stories and ambitions. It's up to you to put a stop to their reign of terror and thwart their plans."Dead Rising 2" offers players the option for co-op playing, supporting up to four players. The multiplayer mode in "Dead Rising 2" is based on an in-game reality TV show called "Terror is Reality." Each player is a contestant on the show and must struggle to survive. Innovative weapon designs are at play in this mode, where ordinary objects are turned into lethal tools of destruction to kill. This includes combining items to make unusual creations, like strapping a lawnmower to a 2x4 to make a Porta Mower. There are three mini-games in multiplayer mode: Zomboni, Bounty Hunter, and Stand Up Zomedy. There is also the "Slicecycle" mode, which lets you drive through swathes of undead and hack them to pieces. You gain money from participating and winning in multiplayer mode, which leads to participation points.The Dead Rising series version brings out your inner zombie hero and takes the full limits off your imagination. Understandably, "Dead Rising 2" for the PS3 is rated M for blood and gore, intense zombie violence, language, sexual themes, and the use of alcohol.

2 chainsaws + rowing paddle + duct tape = zombie slaying fun!
If you are a fan of George Romero, zombies in general, crafting , and just a general silly vibe then this game will be a fun use of time. Personally i never played any other dead rising games and i still dont feel like im missing anything

well done but not for me
I have always enjoyed other capcom games, resident evil series. I enjoyed the stories and searching for clues and items rewarding my efforts. I also enjoyed wondering whats around the next corner and being on the edge of my seat, generally scared. If you feel this way Deadrising 2 may not be for you. The story started out well but I quickly became overwhelmed by the amount of side missions and the zombies are like fleas, not scary, just everywhere. You are always racing against time so there is no "enjoying the scenery" , which is very well done by the way. It can be fun to mow down a group of zombies with a lawn mower or put together insane weapons but for me, I will stick to a good old gun. I enjoyed games like Resident Evil, Dead Space, Uncharted, Indiana Jones where every now ... I have always enjoyed other capcom games, resident evil series. Urging her forward at a snails pace to the rescue center zombies are all over. She stops to hit them with her purse every two steps and you use up all your weapons trying to save her. To avoid extreme frustration, my advice is leave the old bag to the flesh eaters and do something fun. Life is too short.

Great game, good amount of replay value. Would recommend!
This game made me fall in love with the Deadrising franchise. Great game with a good amount of replay value. One of the best games you can purchase for under 10 bucks for PS3. Bang for your buck.

Again, Dead Rising 2 has issues. It’s not the smoothest game and it can feel like the last one, however that doesn’t mean a thing when the game’s this much fun. Using a car battery and a Street Fighter mask to electrocute the undead and a set of knives and a pair of boxing gloves to make Wolverine claws are all great times. Watching Chuck get covered in blood as he slays thousands of zombies, changing outfits so that one minute you’re in a toddler clothes with a LEGO head and the next you’re in a sundress, and listening to completely whacked out boss stories – that’s what I remember about Dead Rising 2. Game arrived 2 days early. Gameplay is great. No skips or pauses in gameplay. I love this game and will be ordering from the Goodwill again.
