Unbeatable for the price!
I am not going to compare this to a JL compact or a Rockford sub. I am going to compare this to any other $60 compact subwoofer on the market: My set up: 2010 F150 super crew Factory Head unit utilizing 2x line out converters (Wal-Mart) Kenwood 4ch amp w/Kicker 6x8 components fed w/16ga wire Precision Power 1000.1 Phantom Amp (Dyno rated amp) Excellent, excellent amp! $160! Sonic electronics downfire underseat sealed box $65 (match spec cf.) I prefer clean and crisp sound. This sub is single coil and easy install using 8ga wire and connectors. Entire set up was tuned using ohms law and a multimeter. Appearance: Solid, sturdy, and attractive subwoofer with nice trim. Sound: Ok, so the money question... how does it sound? The system is very clean sounding with a large amount of range and the dial included in the kit is very helpful for bass boosted songs etc. Now, Ive had set ups that rattle the mirrors and shake the windows but you wont get this out of most single shallow sub installs. But, I am not disappointed whatsoever! For the quality of sound, the boom this sub produces, and the PRICE!!! DAMN!! Ive never seen a $60 perform this way. I think for all variables included, this sub outperforms many of the typical name brands like Kenwood and Kicker. I feel Alpine would hit harder and the JL/Fosgate crowd would easily knock out most systems... but factor in this sub was $60 and all laughs turn to nods! Seriously I couldn't be happier, matrix subs are a clean and powerful source of bass and their rated performance can certainly handle what they claim. My installation puts out exactly the recommended RMS and this sub is performing perfectly.

Amazing shallow-mount sub!
I have had these subs for several years now. I have tried to use other (bigger) boxes in the past, but I recently bought a new SUV and wanted a stealth bass install - I needed the shallow mounts to fit in the compartment space under the trunk floor so I could keep everything away from thieves and still use all of the cargo area. I put 2 of these in separate sealed boxes with 0.65 cu. ft per chamber wired in parallel (2-ohm load) at 500W RMS for each sub. They handle rated power just fine, and can play low notes for shallow mounts. The boxes are 5" deep, these subs are 3.5" mounting depth. I did not want to take up space in my trunk but I wanted tight, loud, deep bass and these do not disappoint. I have had an LX10 and now 2 LX12s for about 3 years and they just keep on going. I've put ... I have had these subs for several years now. I was nervous at 1st,but these do not disappoint at all. Nice deep bass, for $40 each, these are a steal. I have 2 mounted in an SUV and they rattle my rear view mirror
