First Hand Account of the Soviet Terror
The Gulag Archipelago is one of the primary documents that helped to bring down the Soviet Union. Solzhenitsyn became an enemy of the state for his open literary career and was sent to the Siberian Gulag but lived to tell about it. His approx. 2500 pages was first confiscated by Soviet authorities but he had already consigned it to memory and it was fortunately issued in three or four complete unabridged volumes as The Gulag Archipelago in 1974. Scary
Good, first-hand account of surviving the Soviet government and its prison system . . . and, to think, a system like that is what people want in America. Scary, but a necessary read for every American.

Amazing
The fact that this is not required reading in schools is a tragedy. One of the best accounts of what happens when the left goes too far. When you compare what happened the to what is going on now the similarities are stunning.
