Product Information

Takashi Okazaki's brutal anti-hero hacks and slashes for Justice on HD consoles. Afro Samurai is a man driven by revenge, stopping at nothing in his quest to slay the one who murdered his father and then claim the Number One headband as his own, with all the glory and power it bestows. Players take the role of Afro to battle through scenes of swordplay and special effects, in a flowing, third-person action style. The look of the game resembles a finely drawn cartoon, with detailed, outlined characters against backdrops that give the appearance of a watercolor and ink painting. The game is based directly on the animé adventures of the vengeful swordsman. It features the voice of Samuel L. Jackson as Afro and an original, hip-hop soundtrack composed by The RZA.

    Some problems, but overall enjoyable game!

    In the more intense action sequences there's a lot of tearing in the graphics. Minor problems with object interactions. Like other 'ninja' type games, you can wall-run and whatnot, but this wasn't incorporated with the fighting which was kind of disappointing. Additionally, the camera is completely broken and difficult to get used to seeing as the x-axis is inverted and cannot be changed. However, I heard that this can be fixed with a patch, but I don't know for sure. Despite all of that, this game is a very fun button-masher. Awesome combos and sick enemy killing options make this game very enjoyable. I think it's a great addition to any game library.

    GREAT GAME

    If I wasn't reviewing Afro Samurai, fighting Brother 6 would have been the point where I threw the controller at the floor, screamed an obscenity, and sold the game back to GameStop. Packing a flamethrower and three separate phases to the fight, Brother 6's battle is the exact moment when Afro Samurai's super-slick visuals, awesome soundtrack, and fuzzy feeling you get from slicing bad guys in half stopped mattering to me and every one of the game's numerous flaws came together to derail the experience. That sucks because Afro Samurai can actually be a lot of fun at times. The story told in Afro Samurai isn't a sequel to the popular anime but more of a re-imagining of the origin we all know and love. As a child, Afro witnesses the murder of his father -- a badass swordsman -- in a duel ...

    Sad

    Sad because its not compatible with my xbox one but but I plan on doing a painting of Afro Samurai creating a little shrine with the game some how.

    Afro samurai

    I feel like once it's played then it will be a game you will want to play again and again the graphics and story are great the music score they put with it has to be one of the best I have had this game a few times I traded it twice and keep wanting it back now that I have it I won't let it go again the movie and tv show were an added plus to the series wish they would come out with a second game
