Crimson Skies
Don't expect after playing the game that this book will follow right along (like Halo "The Flood" followed the first Halo game EXCETLY and then some - another 5 star book and series in my opinion). But rather it is set in the same time as the game, the same words are used to describe the aircraft and equipment, and some of the names mentioned in the game are also mentioned in this book. Having said that ... this is a collection of three very well written stories. You actually feel like you're watching a movie with these characters in it, and even though they are all three supposed to be somewhat sinister in their ways ... you can't help but really like them and root for them as they tangle with one mess after another. GOOD JOB to the writers of this book! Made me want to play the game ... Good Escapist Reading
This book, based off characters from the tabletop game by WizKids (not the video game) is a pulp-novel type of book. Easy to follow, good plot twists - not "War & Peace, not trying to improve the world, but nice for a fan of the 1930s genre to escape into on a rainy day. I'll keep it on my shelves, next to Alistair MacLean.
