Jimi Mistry (THE GURU, EAST IS EAST) stars in this charming and surprisingly poignant romantic comedy, which is driven by the humor that infuses the multifaceted cultural divide between the young and old, Indian and Western, gay and straight--not to mention real and imaginary, alive and dead--characters. Alim is a young South Indian movie photographer living in London after relocating there from Canada. He lives with his boyfriend Giles (Kristen Holden-Reid), as well as the ghost of Cary Grant (Kyle MacLachlan), whom only Alim can see. Pursuing the ideal world presented in the films of Grant-era Hollywood, Alim seeks and then follows the advice of the ghost. This works out pretty well until his mother Nuru decides to come for a visit. She is a conservative Indian mother who is concerned at Alim's bachelorhood, especially in light of her nephew's impending wedding and the friendly sibling rivalry she shares with his mother. Madcap confusion ensues as Alim tries to keep Giles' true identity and his own, from being discovered by his mother, all the while trying to maintain composure in the style of his mentor.

A Touch of Pink
I'd seen this movie when it was available on Prime. Loved the references top Cary Grant's most well known films. Even better was the delicious irony that Grant as played wonderfully by Kyle McLachlan wants Alim to remain closeted with his mother - marvelously played by Suleka Mathew. As Grant remained in the closet his entire career and thereafter.

If you love Jim Mistry then you'll love him in this film. I heard mixed reviews about this film. I wasn't sure if I would like it. I saw it on Logo and absolutely loved it. What did I like about it? Well, I've always wanted to know how different cultures deal with the issue of being gay. This one gives light on the issue and even though the film turned out on a positive note, which I am glad that it did, this doesn't always happen. It's funny, dramatic and some parts are poignant. I bought the film as a result of seeing this film first. I wasn't disappointed. You will not be either! Make some popcorn, sit down and enjoy the movie!

Excellent story
I bought this movie seeking a good gay story. I can actually say that I loved this movie. Has an excellent love story and allows you to vie love and friendship in a whole new perspective. The friendship between the main character and his imaginary friend is sure something to envy. It shows how the relationship between a gay son and his mother can never be broken due to homosexuality issues. I really recommend this movie to all those seeking a nice gay love story.I bought this movie seeking a good gay story. I can actually say that I loved this movie. Coming out of the Closet
This movie was so amusing! I really didn't know what to expect. It is a wonderful comedy/drama/love story about a man whose Muslim mother comes to visit. Unknown to her, her son is gay and lives with the man he loves in England. It is not only charming, but has some very funny moments. This is a movie that anyone can enjoy regardless of their sexual orientation. It is done very well and shines a nice light on the gay community.This movie was so amusing!
