King Of Laptops
This is a fast and reliable machine. I use my Macs for music and video production and this one is doing the job nicely. I opted for the 17" model because the 15" models no longer include the expresscard 34 slot and I have a couple that I often use (a 4 port USB and a 2 port FW800). Of course, a larger screen is always nice as well! Having all the ports (ethernet, FW800, mini display, expresscard, and 3 USB) on one side is kind of weird but not causing any real problems. I really miss having a firewire 400 in addition to the firewire 800 port. The display is clear and bright, the keyboard nice (although I normally connect an external one) and the uni-body construction seems solid. Overall it's a fantastic computer that I expect to be using well into the future.This is a fast and reliable machine. Beautiful, but do you really need it?
Macbook pros look great, and the quality of the build is top of the line. However, does this warrant the decision to pay such an unreasonably high price? If you have money laying around with nothing to do with it, go ahead and buy it. It's pretty. There are laptops such as the sony vaio f series that have better specs for a much lower price. The battery life of the macbook pro is one thing that sets it apart from the rest, as it has a battery life that is 2-3 times longer than the competition. Normally people would be leaving such a large laptop with a charger attached to it, but if you're constantly on the go with a 17 inch laptop without access to a charger (O_o), then you may go with this for means of necessity. MacBook Pro 17"
It's the best thing since slice bread. I already own other Apple products and this just put the icing on the cake. It's not noisy nor is it heavy. Also, it doesn't heat up like a normal laptop so it won't feel like it's burning your legs. The resolution is amazing and bright. I only wonder why I didn't get one before now. The battery lasts a long time and it's pretty fast. Right out of the box it's pretty simple to setup, and syncing it with another Mac computers is, as easy as, plugging in a Firewire cable to each and following the instructions on your new MacBook Pro. First Mac but not the last!
I bought one of these to use for work and I must say that I am more productive at work (using VMware and its Unity feature). The first thing I notice is how thin the laptop is which makes using it much much easier on my hands for typing. I also am big on using a mouse. I have a trackball mouse for my Windows machine at home but I have come to love the multi-touchpad on this machine. Gestures are easy to use and make you more productive with switching applications, windows easier. Also resizing items is a breeze. The OS, a spin off of BSD Unix is as one would suspect, fast, secure and just works. I can easily download apps from the App store ( can be addicting by the way ) which allows me to click once to purchase and its automatically installed and ready to use. It is a top of the line product and a great value.
I bought this since Apple had stopped making the 17 in version. The screens on these are hard to beat and the picture quality is great. This is not a light weight pc, but the feel of the construction is unsurpassed with any of the others that I have tried. Personally I don't feel that there is a better laptop out there, and like I said I have tried a lot of them.
